The tracks that you all have wanted is being noted. There is still lots of work to be done before the first race is run, so I'll keep you all updated on the progress. Kostas requesting to be the factory Ferrari team was something I've thought about before you brought it up, but details will come up later as I am trying to figure out how to include some sort of car development into the formula. But for now;

Cars Eligible for 2003:

GT1:
Chrysler Viper GTS-R
Chevrolet Corvette C5-R
Saleen S7-R
Lister Storm
Pagani Zonda GR (TBC, need to get mod for this car)
Ferrari 550 Maranello (There are 3 different models)
Porsche 911 GT2 (Last year of Homologation)

GT2:
Porsche 911 GT3-RS (Or GT3-R)
Ferrari 360 Modena GT
Morgan Aero 8 GTN
Mosler MT900R

That may be the case in the end. In the cannon it will be in 2016 season although in terms of car development in terms of new cars will start in 2003.

This is something interesting I've wanted to explore for a while but something I can't actively run. It should be good watching all the old washed up pay drivers dominate while driving for their own team. I expect Darren Older Jr will be perfect for this series.

At this rate we'll run out of different kinds of motorsports to run with! I tried rally, but TMRRC required too much effort (races couldn't be simulated, the software doens't have that capability), but I might have an idea for a small second series.

Oh probably. We'll all saturate the system until it goes pop.

OP has been updated, includes provisional calendar. The Maximum grid size will be 30 so that the series can race at most tracks in case some tracks have limited pit facilities.

Are you considering creating a limit to the number of GT2 and GT1 teams? Like 14 GT1 teams and 16 GT2 teams.

That will come in the next major update to the rules. That which will concern teams, relationship to the factory, and how many cars they run.

EDIT: What do you want the distance/time duration do you want the races to be? Whatever the final answer may be, the final round at HSR will be longer to justify the double points. :D

There's a Zonda GR in this mod - http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=4789

What it's doing in a mod known as Camaro-Firebird Challenge is quite a mystery though

As for the race distance; how about 2 hour races?

EDIT: Or maybe even having a sprint race and then an "endurance" one (2 hour)

I'm using the Le Mans Bugatti version of Circuit de la Sarthe, because I can. And the reason for the Norisring is to have it support the F1RWRS.

I'm thinking 2 hours or 250 km for the race. A 2 race weekend is possible, but I'll do some more research into the championship builder I got to see what is and isn't possible. Since this is going to run during the 2016 RWRS calendar, there is still months before the first race, so that gives me more time to be thorough with my research into making this series work. :D

OP has been updated, confirming change to GT1 only formula and calendar to tracks that are able to fit a 31 car grid. The extra 1 comes from me needing some sort of car so i can actually partake in the championship and save the replays.

The races will be 2 hours long, with the finale at High Speed Ring being 3 hours and have a standing start. Thank you minardi for the tip to the Zonda GR Mod, I'll be getting that in probably tomorrow and begin work on Driver Skill details alongside a program i've downloaded that allows me to change the engine output of the cars, although it looks like it will change it for all teams that use the same car so that may be out of the question.

More details to come, including details on Teams, Drivers.

OK I can guess what the three versions of the Ferrari are, and I'd like to run a two-car team of 550-GTSs. Not the GT, because by now it was old and slow, and not the 575-GTC which only used by privateers and was rather crap compared to the 550-GTS.

Walther Williams Racing would also like to partake in this championship. But IndyCar series owner Williams would like the GT-R WC as a support for one of his events. Here's the schedule: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5514#p204352

Even a support race for the Indy 500 could be arranged, if the series organizer wishes to do so. ;)

By process of elimination, that means you want the Prodrive built 550. That has been noted.

Before lots of people put in their entries, I would like to say that I'm only looking at interest right now. Official applications for entry will come down the line once more stuff is finalised. Although all the intent in terms of cars and whatnot has been noted, I'm keeping them in mind once applications are being taken.

Done some testing with Ai comparing the fastest stats to slowest, and having each car have drivers with the highest stats to show their relative pace. And a few conclusions have been made.

The Ai Drivers are evaluated over these stats first of all. Also shown is the spectrum of each of the stats, stats in bold mean lower is better, italics mean higher is better or more aggressive..

Race Ability (Dry) 0.5-8 (Gap of about 2 seconds at Donnington GP, for reference)
Rain Ability 1-8
Cornering Add (Affects slower corners) Range is minute, so it will not be disclosed.
Cornering Mult (Affects faster corners) Same as Cornering Add.
Track Aggression 0.5-1.250
Qualifying Ability 0.5-10 (Gap of about 4 seconds at Donnington GP, for reference)

*Since I dare not change the engine stats of the cars, Drivers who are on factory teams will get a set bonus to their Race Ability in the Dry and Wet, and a smaller set bonus for Qualifying Ability.

*Teams in older cars (Porsche GT2/Chrysler Viper) will get penalties in the same stats to show that they are old and obsolete. Once applications for teams are being taken, I will note which cars are eligible for a Factory Team and which cars get the Age Penalty.

*Other cars will give different Bonuses/Penalties depending on their relative pace in the actual FIA-GT, LMS, ALMS and what not. This will need work to get a good balance, so the changes may only be minute.

*When I take in applications, it will be expected that you also PM me the general characteristics of your 2 drivers per car in accordance to the 6 variables above.

*More testing on this will be done in the future, the ranges aren't absolute and the Ability ranges may change when I take in applications.
