Nice thread.

Does anyone know what Luca is doing now? Is he racing anywhere or retired?

Gokarting with Michael most likely.

I noticed that BBC Sport never finished their Q&A with Luca back in August, 2009.

Obviously they never got around to it since Luca only drove two races, but it's still
poor journalism when you don't finish up your articles.

So, I'm interested in what the F1R people think Luca's answers would have looked like, had they done
the Q&A proper. What do you think?

Here's how I fantasize his replies:

What three words would you use to describe what it's like to be a Formula One driver?
Chasing that point.

What is the biggest perk of the job?
Being friends with Michael Schumacher.

How would you like to be remembered as an F1 driver?
As a Boss.

What is your most embarrassing sporting moment?
I once put on Michael's boxers by mistake in the Fiorano circuit locker room.

Who is the worst dressed Formula One driver?
Gaston Mazzacane.

Ayrton Senna or Alain Prost?
Rolf Stommelen.

Spa or Monaco?
Fiorano.

If you were not a F1 driver what would you be?
A gokart driver.

Who is the greatest sportsman of all time?
My gokart-friend Michael.

What would be your perfect day off?
Gokarting with Michael at Fiorano.

Where is your favourite place to go on holiday?
Fiorano.

Apart from a house what is the most expensive thing that you own?
A gokart. And my special machine for training the neck.

What is your favourite item of clothing?
My gokart overalls.

What is your favourite music to drive to?
Pink Floyd.

Which famous person - dead or alive - would you like to have dinner with and why?
Brett Lunger.
Because I want to ask him what it felt like to lose that record to me? Of most Grand Prix without a point.

Tell us something about yourself that most F1 fans might not know.
I like to compete on the gokart with Michael at Fiorano. And also train my neck on my special machine.

Steve McQueen or Paul Newman?
Are they gokart drivers? I don't know. I will say.. Paul McCartney.

Boxers or briefs?
As long as they fit my gokarting overalls, I'm ok.

Angelina Jolie or Keira Knightley?
I don't know. I like women who drive gokarts.

James Bond or Austin Powers?
Has Bond ever driven a gokart? If so, him.

I can see the responce from the BBC with you're answers: "We apologise for the fault in the answers. Those responsible have been sacked."

Good post,

Race 28 should be Australia (1995 Minardi) but he did not start I think due to a gearbox failure on the warm up lap. Considering he was faster than Lamy (for the time when he replaced Martini) Badoer could have been the one to finish 6th, not Lamy!

Which would change a few things...!
Miserable Thierry (Boutsen) staggers round mostly on ten cylinders (out of 12) with no clutch, low oil pressure, bad brakes and no grip to finish tenth, 3 laps down...

(Murray Walkers review of Boutsen's Brazil 1991 race).

Thats a point these days!

I'm not going to bet against Badoer winning a CART championship, but knowing his luck, it would put Michael Andretti's luck at winning CART titles to shame. In other words, he'd have a 4 race lead in the championship by midseason and then be locked out of title contention at the last race.

Would he have been a megatalent in CART?

Let's just say he would have made life for some people difficult. :D

I see our limitless Badoer love continues! :)

I'd never seen those pics of Luca still crying as he returned to the pits before - moving stuff.

Speaking of moving, I'm moving this thread to its rightful place, the JDD thread.
