And, lastly, two hundred says Jordan beat McLaren in the WCC - though I still think you should save time and give me the money now, Cannon. I have an excellent cause in mind for it.

I do hope Stewart will have a stronger year than 1997, hopefully the car will be more reliable. Speaking of Stewart, anyone who would want to be test driver may apply so at this time. (No, I'm not hiring Robert Anderson.)

Looks like we're evenly matched. The drivers will make the difference. (or the reliability) And Gauthier isn't worth mentioning, they're just Tyrrell with a different name on it.

By the way, that McLaren car doesn't look completely legal, we'd like the FIA to investigate on that! For that matter, neither do Gauthier with their ridiculous x-wings

It depends. If there's only 2 pre-season tests, the Gustafsson is replaced, but if there's 3, and Gustafsson goes faster than Voeckler in the second test, then Voeckler will be replaced.

McLaren dominates testing but McAllister pips his teammate by less than a tenth. Williams, Jordan, Ferrari and Benetton all appear to be evenly matched. The teams seem to be stacking into four tiers of performance; Tier 1 (McLaren), Tier 2 (Ferrari, Williams, Benetton, Jordan), Tier 3 (Sauber, DAMS, Prost, Arrows Stewart) and Tier 4 (Lola, Gauthier, Volga, Minardi). You can make the argument that Tier 3 should be split between Sauber/DAMS/Prost and the other two teams. Also, the final 1998 calendar has been posted on the wiki, with little to no change from last year's edition.

Bit strange how Gustafsson has suddenly became slower than Voeckler, the opposit was true at the end of 1997. Good to see the non delusional Mclaren driver to be faster than his teammate.

Now just what was he doing to spend that long on the track?

I know, it's a typo.

I think we need another race or two. The season seems to stop abruptly midway through September.

And it gives room for more F1RGP2C madness :P

Non delusional? Last time I checked Rory McAllister believed he could beat James Davies. :P

Both F1RGP2C and Prost GP are canon. Therefore it's hardly surprising to see a driver who can win races in the latter be reasonably handy in the former.

Yep. If you follow this but not Prost GP, then let it be known, A VOECKLER WON A RACE. :D

Robert bathplugging Anderson got a 4th early in the season. Your argument is invalid

Goddamn it Mr Hamilton, you're making Anderson seem more important than he really is :P

Well, Gustafsson's performance file is matched up to Ricardo Rosset, so that would explain his lack of pace in recent weeks.

I'm trying to follow the actual F1 calendar with slightly different dates put in. I don't think we will be going to eighteen races just yet. Maybe next year, when things get interesting...

Pasta, you said you want to replace Hermann Mann in 1997 thread. With whom? :?

Err, how? He was right with Davies in the first test, now he's dropped 6 tenths and fallen behind McAllister as well.
