LFS NC races, Round 3: Aston 12 Hours, ZIMSPORTWINSLOL

Post by Nuppiz »

Now that IFRC is ready to start and waiting for the RWRS season to start, I've got other ideas to spend some time with present-day series. A bit over a month ago I downloaded LFS-Tweak, which allows me to customise various aspects on Live For Speed vehicles. That gave me some ideas on new LFS races, although for obvious reasons they're not going to be full-blown series. Instead, there'll be three non-championship races in 2016:

F1 Rejects Masters with a customized MRT5. Run in association with the Tropican Government and Melrose Racing Team Engine Workshop. Takes place early in the season (January 31st), with a single 20-car 100 mile race on the Fern Bay circuit.
Image

F1 Rejects Drag Festival with a heavily-customized Formula BMW. Four quarterfinals with eight cars each (32 in total) with the top four of each QF advancing to the semifinals. Two semifinals with eight cars each, again the top four of each SF advancing to the final. The final will then feature the eight best cars, and the winner is crowned the F1 Rejects Dragster King/Queen. Takes place mid-season (June 25th-26th).
Image

Aston 24 Hours - yes, it's back! Takes place late in the season (November 11-13).
Image

Every race will be broadcast live on my UStream channel, and the results will be posted on the forum as well as the wiki.

So, without further ado, here's the list of drivers I'm looking at for F1 Rejects Masters. The list is in order of preference, so once one of the first 20 drivers refuses to take part, the 21st driver gets the chance to join and so on. The selection will end after 20 drivers have confirmed their entry, and I'll add more drivers if needed.

1. Mark Dagnall (three-time F1RWRS champion)
2. Pippa Mann (2012 F1RWRS Champion) CONFIRMED #7
3. Nathanael Spencer (2011 F1RWRS champion)

No mention of Douglas Mann's championship success? Why does everybody forget Douglas's title?! :o Has that series been discredited or forgotten or something? Anyway, Pippa Mann will compete as long as Douglas is added to the waiting list somewhere. If he isn't, then she won't.

The F1CC series got discredited ages ago.

Yup, it's been decided that the series was merely a competition on a game or something and it doesn't really count!

And Pippa would refuse a place in the Masters because her brother isn't there? Maybe he isn't there because he's not good enough, and I'm sure he'd want Pippa to compete anyway.... ;)

Anyway, the Mad Uncle will take up the challenge of driving the go-kart from hell :P

Unlike Melrose however, Macklin's braincells have not been killed off by chronic alcoholism, so he'll be skipping the Masters.

To be honest, Pippa will compete anyway, partially dus to the fact that she has been put so far up the list... ;)

Well Pippa knows that her brother is easy competition - one less driver to get in her way...

And the fact that F1CC was a competition within a game means that it doesn't count? But then it still existed, right? And Douglas still won it, right?

For all enthusiastic Wiki editors: please do not make a season page for this. There's only three unrelated races so it'd make little sense. Instead, the links to each race's own article will be included on the main RWRS calendar.

As the driver who should have won the 2012 F1RWRS season if it had sportive legitimacy Kay Lon calls bullshit on the fact that he was not invited. Tomo Kazama, on the other hand, accepts the invitation. Renaldo Jimenez is neither invited nor does he wish to race anymore but the new Presidente still forces him to do so despite having released his family from prison.

Jack Maddock will be more than pleased to compete at the F1 Rejects Masters.

P.S.: Where's Niko Bellic on the invitation list? Might I remind you he was the first ever REECCS champion?

Yes he was, but REECCS is no longer considered canon, and his best finish in a canon series is 16th in the 2014 F2RWRS season. Added him anyway to the bottom of the list.

So we now have 19 confirmations, 12 of which are from the original top 20. The race will be run on June 24th 17:00 UTC as a live video broadcast which will also be recorded and posted on YouTube for those who can't make it to the live event. You have until that date to confirm your entries.

I counted 20 confirmed drivers total, so you have enough drivers already, why not announce a deadline by which you have to confirm the drivers and after that lock the entries?

Well I only counted 19 confirmed drivers, plus one refusal. Anyway, I'll lock down the entry process on Sunday 30th June 21:00 UTC. If by then I still don't have enough drivers, Phil McCracken gets the nod because of his runner-up position in the 2011 F1RLFS Cup because then I have one of my own drivers here as well.
