Van Der Maeyede was only 3 one hundredths behind Schumacher and Restov got a podium in Detroit.

-- Positives --
Fernando Alonso - despite missing Monaco, this great win means that Alonso is now only 25 points behind his partner in the WDC.

Davide Valsecchi - pushed as hard as he could and nearly got his first F1 victory out of it.

Stefan-Renault - profiting from other people's mistakes is what helped the team get to where they are and once again they have proven their skill at it.

Evgeny Restov - made it count and survived to grab one point which gives him INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Rubens Barrichello - the Russian Restov did it, Brazilian Barrichello came close to doing so.

-- Negatives --
James James Davies - 12 points are better than nothing but Davies will regret losing what should have been a dominant win.

Lewis Hamilton - careless spin cost him a few places.

Mercedes - two engine failures are two too much.

Jenson Button - a performance truly worthy of REJECT OF THE RACE after spinning twice and then not getting back to the points.

Sergio Peréz - this time around he learned from his team mate and smashed the car in the next best wall.

Menacing Stefan GP entries on high downforce tracks early in the season was another. Now, not so much since the successful testing.

Evgeny Restov wrote:For sure it's nice to score points on merit and being able to keep faster cars behind. It's no secret that I've struggled to adapt to the changes in the car recently; I will admit I found it very surprising when I wasn't nominated for the YDT, despite having scored the majority of our points this season. Of course, since then the guys did a fantastic job with the new upgrades, which Jan can make work but they really don't suit my driving style but I will adapt, and carry on scoring!

Race Control Addendum: Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro have been fined €5.000.000 due to their driver in car #0 (Fernando Alonso) disregarding blue flags.
Race Control Addendum: Car #10 (Shinbou Katayama) was handed a suspended race ban for causing an avoidable accident involving car #9 (Kazuki Nakajima).

-- Positives --
Nathan McKane - this here is what you call domination, it's a combination of skill and concentration. (OT: I think I used this reference before, though. )

Romain Grosjean - reasonable effort to grab another podium and seal his team mate's fate.

McLaren-Mercedes - a podium for Hamilton and Wickens performing well to means mad points and mad money.

Vitaly Petrov - his second ninth place in a row and got INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE for being only three seconds off his hyped team mate.

Rhys Davies - life is cruel for the Australian F1 legend, another retirement and again it was not his fault.

-- Negatives --
Nicolas Prost - not making the points today may very well have ended his F1 career.

Fernando Alonso - he got his team a major fine and drove like a prick after his race was ruined by crashes and electrical problems, a clear-cut REJECT OF THE RACE.

Jenson Button - he will want to forget this weekend very soon.

Davide Valsecchi - failing to avoid Button and Alonso during their crash is one thing, but spinning out carelessly makes you look like an idiot.

Stefan-Renault - when two team mates collide it tends to make their entire team look stupid.

I would like to inform you of a new rule: from now on, if your team is sentenced to a financial penalty, you can choose to take the fine out of the responsible driver's wage if said driver is a real life driver. This will mean you do not have to pay the penalty, however there is a very high probability that said driver will quit his job (formula: 80/90 (depending on whether the driver is ahead or behind his team mate) + how many millions the fine is per-cent) immediately.

Race Control Addendum: Sahara Force India F1 Team Renault have been fined €2.000.000 due to their driver in car #17 (Davide Valsecchi) causing an avoidable accident involving car #9 (Kazuki Nakajima).
Race Control Addendum: Sauber F1 Team Ferrari have been fined €2.000.000 due to their driver in car #18 (Rhys Davies) illegaly being refueled during the race. Both of their cars have been given five-second penalties.
Race Control Addendum: Office Depot USF1 Group Honda have been fined €2.000.000 due to their driver in car #24 (Jan van der Maeyede) illegaly being refueled during the race. Both of their cars have been given five-second penalties.
Race Control Addendum: Nokia KQ Motor Sports Hyundai have been fined €2.000.000 due to their driver in car #27 (Pastor Maldonado) illegaly being refueled during the race. Both of their cars have been given five-second penalties.

-- Positives --
Robert Kubica - survived a messy race and stayed in the lead for the entire race to extend his championship lead.

Romain Grosjean - stayed cool when people did not expect it and got 18 neat points.

Dean Stoneman - put pressure on his rival for the Renault seat and may make the return of the name Voeckler to F1 impossible.

Nicolás Fontana - while he profited massively from the fuel problems of other teams he was rightfully in the position to take advantage: INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Pastor Maldonado - the hero of Venezuela looked great all race and didn't even let fuel troubles really spoil his day.

-- Negatives --
Lewis Hamilton - may have gotten points but really did not deserve them.

Sauber-Ferrari - atrocious pace and their lead driver being a fuel-wasting monkeyman gives the squad REJECT OF THE RACE.

USF1-Honda - off the pace and also wasteful with petrol.

Nathan McKane - went full retard twice on a day where he could and should have won.

Jenson Button - smashing into the wall unprovoked means he fails to score for three races in a row, burying his title chances.

-- Positives --
Nathan McKane - despite running into fuel trouble he made it to the end and won because of it.

Robert Wickens - a podium finish may have very well saved his F1 career for now.

Sergio Pérez - a great result by the Mexican driver, another boatload of points.

Michael Schumacher - just after Super Aguri got passed by USF1, Schumacher gets points and INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE to restore order.

Alexandre Voeckler - while his result was not as pleasing, he performed quite well.

-- Negatives --
Stefan-Renault - an ugly lack of pace results in only minimal points.

Ralf Alden - a daring maneuvre ended not only JVDM's day but ruined Alden's chances.

Lola-Renault - slow and uncompetitive, once more, and Super Aguri scoring points really puts them under pressure.

Vitaly Petrov - losing his front wing was the first act, smashing out after the needed pitstop is the second act in the play REJECT OF THE RACE.

Fernando Alonso - a careless mistake early on after taking the lead and then having his engine explode.

-- Positives --
Sebastién Bourdais - the battle for the world title is bathplug on, the Frenchman is back in it.

McLaren-Mercedes - a beautiful truckload of points for the Brits, their season may just be turn around.

Sauber-Ferrari - great result, even though they lost their lead driver.

Nicolás Fontana - he deserves INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE after legitimately laying the smacketh-down on his team mate.

Alexandre Voeckler - he got one strike against Stoneman in the fight for the second Renault.

-- Negatives --
Robert Kubica - lost massive ground in the title race, he may come to regret this event.

Williams-Honda - no points today and justifiably so, their pace was lacking.

Dean Stoneman - that's a loss in the Renault war; can he come back from this?

Fernando Alonso - is it scientifically possible to spin out of the lead at the last lap due to a driver error and not get REJECT OF THE RACE?

Super Aguri-Honda - they must be worried, their competitiveness is gone: will they surrender this season?

-- Positives --
Davide Valsecchi - he took his and Force India's first win in front of an Italian crowd and deserved INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE for it.

Sebastién Bourdais - did not seem as troubled as his team mate and therefore deserves to get even closer to the title.

Sauber-Ferrari - great result, even though they lost their lead driver.

Vitaly Petrov - was seriously close to his team mate, which is rare in itself, and got a point where his team mate did not.

Lewis Hamilton - would have taken a good haul of points before his gearbox passed out.

-- Negatives --
Jenson Button - whether it was his car and Bourdais was awesome or whether and was him and the car was as good as Bourdais made it look: his performance just was not good enough.

Stefan-Renault - apparentely, their run at the top is over and reality has struck hard.

Sauber-Ferrari - Nico Rosberg's late race spin and Sergio Perez's retirement where not what the team needed after the double points finish yesterday.

USF1-Honda - ignoring Max Chilton they were the weakest cars on the grid.

Nicolás Fontana - you know you look like an idiot if you finish 18th when your team mate wins the Grand Prix, REJECT OF THE RACE.

Race Control Addendum: Red Bull Racing Honda have been fined €2.000.000 due to their driver in car #5 (Sebastién Bourdais) causing an avoidable accident involving car #10 (Shinobu Katayama).

-- Positives --
Rhys Davies - while he required McKane's idiocy for it, a hattrick is always a nice thing to have.

Force India-Renault - having two rookies both performing great and keeping things under control is extremely valueable.

Vitaly Petrov - dashing effort from the Russian who has become a reasonably consistent point-scorer in recent weeks.

Michael Schumacher - INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE for bringing the Super Aguri home in the points

Jérôme d'Ambrosio - a great bunch of brownie (sadly no WCC) points for d'Ambrosio as he pushes the Lola to the limit.

-- Negatives --
Sauber-Ferrari - do not let that point fool you, they really were not fast at all.

Red Bull-Honda - REJECT OF THE RACE is guaranteed if both of your drivers spin and never recover from it.

Alexandre Voeckler - losing your front wing on lap one is no excuse to not try and fight back harder than Voeckler did.

Nathan McKane - losing the lead and the race by losing your cool is not good for your standing, both within the team and the WDC.

Lewis Hamilton - an unprovoked spin causes him to lose a possible podium finish.

-- Positives --
Alexandre Voeckler - got lucky in the contact with Kubica, but still earned INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE by scoring his debut victory.

Sebastién Bourdais - came back from yesterday's failure to blow the WDC wide open again.

Nico Rosberg - the German managed to stay cool in his second home race and got something for it.

USF1-Honda - van der Maeyede scores four points and Restov ends up one lap short of getting points as well.

Jérôme d'Ambrosio - even though all the cars that were behind him were only behind him because of trouble, he still fought them off bravely.

-- Negatives --
Honda - two engine failures for Vettel over two days are just unacceptable.

Mercedes - two ugly spins ruining their shot at valueable points.

Romain Grosjean - lost some valueable points today and had to congratulate his rookie team mate on his first win.

Max Chilton - no heroics from D'Ambrosio's team mate who still does not seem ready for the big leagues yet.

Ferrari - Kubica throwing away a good chance at getting points for the WDC and Davies retiring with a transmission failure after a single lap gives them REJECT OF THE RACE.

-- Positives --
Rhys Davies - he controlled this race and did so masterfully, a great job from the Australian.

Nathan McKane - finally a haul of points for McKane who needs every single point he can get.

Alexandre Voeckler - another great haul of points for the talented rookie, INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE again.

Vitaly Petrov - he controlled his team mate all through-out the race even though he went unrewarded for it.

Michael Schumacher - had his younger rival right behind him for most of the race.

-- Negatives --
Sebastian Vettel - the Williams team must expect more from their lead driver.

Sauber-Ferrari - slow run by Perez and Rosberg's wheel coming undone is not good for them at all.

Shinbou Katayama - while Stefan's pace was nothing to write home about, her team mate at least tried to make a miracle happen.

Sebastién Bourdais - this is really bad from a championship contender, you really must expect more from him.

Jan van der Maeyede - with nobody else looking like a goof, spinning twice in the first three laps assures you REJECT OF THE RACE.

-- Positives --
Romain Grosjean - ruined Rhys Davies's second hattrick and made him work for it.

Jenson Button - recovered from yesterday's trouble for RBR and got away with a podium.

Kazuki Nakajima - while he did not quite ended up on the podium, he hold off the rest of the competition for INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Robert Wickens - after his team mate handed in his brain before the start, it was up to Wickens to get points for McLaren.

Rubens Barrichello - for once he dominated his rival and team mate.

-- Negatives --
Robert Kubica - you know you are good if you can increase your lead to the main title contender even though you perform absolutely awful.

James James Davies - his performance was bad but his failure to steal points from Kubica is even worse.

Lewis Hamilton - starting very fast: good; starting so fast you need to put yourself in the wall to avoid a crash: REJECT OF THE RACE.

Sebastién Bourdais - slow again and this time the car is not a valid excuse.

KQ-Hyundai - the speed of this team was just atrocious today, they will have to find out what happened today and will have to find it out fast.

Young Driver's Test II

Post by Klon »

It is now time for the second young drivers test of the season. The 13 Formula 1 teams head to the Le Mans Bugatti Circuit on September 5 and September 6 to give new drivers (and new parts) a chance ... again.

You, as team managers, have two things to decide - who will drive your cars and how you want to approach the test. There are three options:
Using a main driver - for a heavy fee, the FIA lets a team use one of their main drivers (you can pick either one of your two hired drivers, there is no difference as far as development is concerned). This option increases the chance of successfully developing upgrades to 40 per-cent and costs €30,000,000
Entering two rookies - this is the middle ground, the team brings two proper rookies to the test. That has a 20 per-cent chance of successfully developing upgrades and costs €15,000,000
Selling one seat - poorer teams can choose to sell their test seat to "hopeful young drivers" with significant money. This option is free but since the team's full effort is needed to make sure the paying rookie is not a danger to other drivers, there is no chance of successfully developing upgrades.

Just post this one in the thread until Nov 20, 20:30 CET and we are good to go - if you don't, your strategy for the last test is taken over and drivers are reused where possible, otherwise assigned per my selection:
Reminder that you can only sell one of your seats respectively only enter one of your main drivers - also, F1RWRS Canon influences the number of entries a driver has, if you are unsure, ask.

Team: Well, duh.

Strategy: using a main driver/entering two rookies/selling one seat

Driver #1: Pick any driver between the age of 15 and 35 who has appeared in five or less Grands Prix.
Driver #2: Depending on your choice you enter here one of your main drivers, the second rookie or nothing-

Current Testing Line-Up:
Ferrari: Charlie Kimball/Robert Kubica
Mercedes: Esteban Gurrieri/James Hinchcliffe
Red Bull: Mitch Evans/Charles Pic
McLaren: Felipe Nasr/Robert Wickens
Stefan: Milos Pavlovic/Kazuki Nakajima

Renault: Robin Frijns/Romain Grosjean
Sauber: James Calado/Adrian Quaife-Hobbs

Super Aguri: Vitantonio Liuzzi/Luís Sá Silva

I am afraid De La Rosa does not qualify as a young driver, so you need to pick someone else. ;)

Could I please have Stoffel Vandoorne in the car instead of De La Rosa?
Thanks

Ferrari will be running Robert Kubica and Charlie Kimball, as Dean Stoneman has now started too many races to count as a young driver.
