After the abject failure of the contest last season due to an abnormally high level of bone idleness and VETTELWINSLOL, we're back again this year. We're gonna try and do it properly this year. We expect this pledge to last all of three weeks.

In an attempt to properly revive the spark for F1 that was in such grave danger of being lost throughout the second half of last season, not only have I signed up for the Fantasy Racers league, I'm also going to make a determined effort at Predicament Predictions this year. As ever, I expect just about nothing, but then... in this competition, who does? None of us are Mystic Meg, after all. Without further delay...

2014 "Hey HWNSNBM, get the two-seater Minardi out that's actually a Tyrrell and let's go for a blast round the park and tell Richard's F1 all about it afterwards. Bonza!" Grand Prix

1. Rosberg
2. Hamilton
3. The Incredible Hülk
4. Bo77as
5. Magnussen
6. Pérez
7. Massa
8. Alonso
9. Räikkönen
10. Bianchi (more out of hope than expectation, but we can dream)

Pole: Hamilton (though I'd prefer it if Britney took it instead)
Fastest lap: Hamilton (see above)
First retirement: Ericsson (lap one, and nobody works out if it's engine trouble or something breaking on the car)
ROTR: I would say Red Bull, but given what we know from testing, what expectations do we have of them? I'll go for Caterham instead.
The "You Little Ripper" award for IIDOTR: Any one of Hülk, Bottas or Magnussen. Give it to Kevin, I'd say, seeing as it's his first race and I have him beating his dad's entire career in that one race.
The "You Flaming Gollah" award for DBTMOTR: Maldolan, and it's nothing to do with the 13 on his car
MLP: Kevin "look at me, dad!" Magnussen - by default
DNQ: Controversial choice here? Reverend Maldolan, who is allowed to start, but continues where he left off at the end of 2013, spitting venom at his team. They're not impressed. Charles Pic looks on expectantly.

I have no idea how the points work, seeing as I've only ever done joke predictions before... but I'd hope to score more than zero.
James Allen, on his favourite F1 engine of all time:
"...the Life W12, I can't describe the noise to you, but imagine filling your dustbin with nuts and bolts, and then throwing it down the stairs, it was something akin to that!"

DBTMOTR: Dead-Beat Teammate of the Race. He, who by some inexplicable formula, is the least competitive relative to his teammate of the weekend

MLP: Minor League Placement. The best performing rookie driver. Used to include a team battle as well between Caterham/Lotus, Virgin/Marussia and HRT, but this has subsequently been dropped.

He's got it all wrong. When I see Ericsson and Chilton's hairdos, the only signal going to my brain is 1049.

My working is at follows:

Lotus/Sauber/Force India to lose most of their cars to reliability and/or crashes
Kyvat and Magnussen will do something stupid and maybe crash
they will hit people like
Alonso, Ricciardo, etc
Vergne will get in a scrape
Williams will have bad luck and lose one or both

I think Vettel will find a way to finish, Hamilton and Rosberg might make gents agreements as mentioned and both will finish.

My predo's-

1. Hamilton
2. Rosberg
3. Raikkonen
4. Button
5. Massa
6. Hulkenberg
7. Vettel
8. Bianchi
9. Kobayashi
10. No Finisher

Yeah take that

Pole: Hamilton
Fastest Lap: Rosberg

You've been here over three years and there are still some abbrevs. that you cannot figure out?! :o

Let me explain one more to you then. HWNSNBM = He Whose Name Shall Not Be Mentioned. In a number of the mid-to-late '00 podcasts, there was a certain Hungarian driver who Jamie and Enoch were passionate should return to F1 - the Max Chilton/Kamui Kobayashi of his day. He left F1 still in his mid-20s, having scored a point for Minardi! His last GP was in 2004, so I reckon he may be going for the F1 record that is currently held by Jan Lammers, in in which Luca Badoer is in second place. Maybe there could be a return of HWNSNBM next year? He's still only 33 now...

xD HWNSNBM I did know about, I even have a self-made tshirt sporting his abbreviation. I have listened to the podcasts since '06-'07.
Most of the abbreviations that I don't know are in The Perry McCarthy Memorial Forum.

I don't know if you ever saw this thread?, relevant to this discussion.

Aww, don't worry Ricky..I mean Jocke. I don't know most of the abbreviations regarding the PMMF forum (barring PMMF..and my comments there equal a grand total of one).

I am a big fan of Paul Stoddard though :)
