Oh shite, you changed to the GP2 2006 template? I was trying to wrestle with the 2008 one, and that thing's just dreadful.

Thanks though!

2005, the 2008 template was too much of a pain to paint on, plus the 2005 cars fit in better with the backstory of them being ex F2RWRS cars.

I can't do liveries on my own, so it would be very kind if someone could do something like this for me:
Black base with white and orange elements.
Sponsors: Magna will be our main sponsor and Red Bull will be a small second sponsor.
Thanks :)

I would like to announce that Roberto Dinella and his Lampre Lira will be available for any F5000 race that doesn't clash with his prior commitments in F2RWRS. Currently we don't have dates established for the F5000 rounds so I cannot say for which ones he will be available, but you're welcome to sign him up on the proviso that he will only be able to compete in a select number of races and not the full season. When dates are confirmed, I will work out which ones he will make himself available for.

Krautmeir to drive for Hydook in F5000 for 2017
Hydook Racing has confirmed that Jeroen Krautmeir will make his Formula 5000 debut alongside Milica Bosevic at the team next year.

Following weeks of speculation about whether or not Hydook will enter the second car, the team made its call over the last few days on the back of an offer made by Jeroen Krautmeir to drive for the Croatian outfit in 2017.

Krautmeir is yet to comment on the recent events.

Armed with this information, I can declare that Roberto Dinella is available to drive for any team at the following rounds:

Round 3: Sandown - June 9-11
Round 4: Barbagello - July 1-2
Round 6: Sentul International Circuit - August 26-27
Round 8: Morgan Park - September 23-24
Round 9: Bathurst - October 6-8
Round 10: Adelaide - November 4-5 (Supporting ACO Le Mans Cup)

Round 12: Pukekohe - November 25-26
Round 13: Ruapana Raceway - December 2-3
N/C: Albert Park - December 31 (F5000 Race of Legends)

He is available for one-off or temporary drives for a couple of races, or alternatively you can have him for the full season, and have someone fill in for rounds 1, 2, 5 and 7.

The only stipulation is that there needs to be a bit of Lampre pink in the livery!

I'm afraid that won't be happening, as Dinella is running in F2RWRS full-time this year. If he wants to run in Formula 5000, he can only do ~20% of the races, unless he no longer runs F2RWRS full time.

There has been steady progress in regards to liveries - most of the requested liveries have been completed. I'm waiting on some liveries from those who said they'd make their own (TMLW, Pasta and Biscione). These teams will run in a basic testing livery until the actual livery has been sent.

American Racing Conglomerate, Hydook Racing Team, Ian Moncrieff Racing, Dofasco Racing and Turismo Algarve need to supply numbers for all of their cars, while Telstra DMR and Gotham Racing International/Tasmania GP need to supply a number for their second car. Failure to do so will mean the organiser will select a number for the team.

Second drivers are needed for Telstra DMR and Ford Performance Racing - if a second driver is not entered, these teams will run one car until a driver has been signed.

All privateer teams must nominate what events they are going to enter.
This is a cool spot.

Any team/car that does not have a number will have them RNG'd if numbers aren't posted by the team manager/driver manager soon. Miguel suggested this idea in chat for his team's numbers (68 for Rafael Martins, 41 for Sandra Yoo).

Second test - Calder Park
http://simresults.net/141216-m3h

Third test - Eastern Creek
http://simresults.net/141216-KP5

The Minimum Racing Skill (aka Random Grip Range) values for many drivers will be regenerated before the first race as some are much too low.

Qualifying will be split into two groups, determined at random for each round. The bottom overall times will be classed as DNQ for tracks with low grid/pit box limits.

As these teams have not confirmed their numbers, I will use the RNG to determine them:

American Racing Conglomerate:
#53: Mac Farrugia
#84: Dylan Senerson

Hydook Racing Team
#14: Milicia Bosevic
#17: Jeroen Krautmeir

Ian Moncrieff Racing:
#42: Matt Fadden
#62: Michael Moncrieff

Dofasco Racing
#40: Kamil Pijanowski

Turismo Algarve
#41: Sandra Yoo
#68: Rafael Martins

Gotham Racing International
#46: Ed Weaver

Dofasco have not confirmed the number of rounds they will be running, so this will be done by RNG as well:
5 rounds (rounds 2,4,7,10,13)
This is a cool spot.

Results from Round 1 - Eastern Creek:

http://simresults.net/141217-QX9

Auto Fiction wrote:Alvarez Reina takes inaugural F5000 race win
Relatively unknown Argentinian driver Guadalupe Alvarez Reina has taken the win with a flawless drive in the first round of the F5000 series. Starting from third, Reina quickly passed Roel Lamberigts for second to slot in behind polesitter Rafael Martins. Martins held the lead for the first few laps, before spinning on a kerb that claimed its fair share of victims over the half hour race. Matt Grove was one driver who will be thinking what could've been after losing a rear wing early on, as he managed to pass Reina and pull away after being lapped.

At the lower end of the top 10, there was action all round as drivers battled for valuable points. Sam Baromono and Alexey Pchelintsev had a spot of synchronised spinning, which resulted in the Kazakh driver losing his rear wing as the lapped Milica Bosevic plowed into his car. Dean O'Lauchlan was on a charge after a poor qualifying, and was on the verge of breaking into the top 10 when a desperate passing move on Mark Boutsanis resulted in a trip to pit lane for a new front wing as well as the Reject of the Race award.

Alvarez Reina held a massive lead until he caught the train at the back of the field. He almost lost it all when Wim-Bert Horrie made a complete dogs breakfast of his braking point at turn 2 on the final lap, divebombing up the inside of the race leader. Thomas Wren had a very consistent run to take second place and almost had a shot at first place in the lapped traffic. Wiremu Tamati upheld the reputation of the factory Ford team with a solid third place.

The Privateers Cup was a non-event, with only Ant Leketus turning up for this first round. Next round should see at least two additional entries, with Dofasco and Kiwi Racing confirmed to enter.
This is a cool spot.

Results from Round 2 at Symmons Plains

http://simresults.net/141218-Dl1

Auto Fiction wrote:Pijanowski survives chaotic race to win at Symmons Plains
Polish driver Kamil Pijanowski has taken a hugely unexpected race win on Dofasco's return to racing, in a highly chaotic round of the F5000 series at Symmons Plains. Starting the race from 7th, he survived all the chaos all around the field to take the win. Qualifying saw Wiremu Tamati take pole position from Emilio Boni, with Sandra Yoo, Tetsuya Takagi and Mac Farrugia not making the cut due to the grid limit. Tamati led the race early on, until driver error at the hairpin saw him in for a new front wing. Thomas Wren fell down the order after contact with Mark Boutsanis meant he needed a trip down the pit lane.

Pole sitter from last time out, Rafael Martins led the race for a few laps, before another rookie mistake saw him drop down the order with a spin. Meanwhile, Dylan Senerson had a huge crash at the hairpin, writing off the American Racing Conglomerate car. The HSV Dealer Team garage will be a very hostile place after John Cunningham followed Ryan Zimmer into the fence at the hairpin, earning them the Reject of the Race award. Mark Boutsanis gave a few of the leaders a scare when he spun in front of the pack, almost taking Alexey Pchelintsev out of the race. Erebus' race went from bad to worse when Hans Einhrin carelessly plowed into Nico Muller, who in turn was pushed into John Bean. Jeremy-Etienne Voeckler will not be too pleased with that incident. Guadalupe Alvarez Reina and Emilio Boni had a close battle for much of the race, which allowed Pijanowski to catch up and pass.

Matt Grove lead for most of the race, however got caught out by the lapped traffic. Matt Fadden outbraked himself at the hairpin after being lapped and removed the Pirtek driver's rear wing with only a few laps to go. Grove tried to finish with no rear wing but was forced into the pit lane. This allowed Pijanowski to take the lead, which he held until the end to take a win that no-one could have ever expected. Rafael Martins dropped out of the points late in the race, from contact with Florence Briggs. Emilio Boni held on for second place and Dean O'Lauchlan redeemed himself with the third step of the podium. Alvarez Reina took 4th place from Phil McCracken.

Pijanowski also took out the Privateers Cup for the round, ahead of Kiwi Racing's Simon Bourne and Ant Leketus.

This race was the craziest race I've ever seen... in fact it even outdone anything that REECCS could throw up. There'll also be a highlights video for this, just to show some of the action that went on. I couldn't cover every incident in the race report, as there were much too many to report.

Highlights video now live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv44lIsm96k

Full stewards report to come, though I get the feeling that a few replacement drivers will be needed.
