Formula 5000 2017 Season - Season Finished!

The Cars
The cars that will be used in this series are former F2RWRS chassis from 2014-2016, which will be powered by 5 litre V8 engines from V8 Supercars (either Ford, Holden, Nissan or Mercedes-Benz).

2017 F5000 Calendar

Round 1: Sydney Motorsport Park - May 6-7
Round 2: Symmons Plains - May 20-21
Round 3: Sandown - June 9-11
Round 4: Barbagello - July 1-2
Round 5: Hidden Valley - July 15-16
Round 6: Surfers Paradise - August 5-6
Round 7: Sentul International Circuit - August 26-27
Round 8: Sepang International Circuit - September 2-3 (Supporting GTR-WC)
Round 9: Queensland Raceway - September 23-24
Round 10: Bathurst - October 6-8
Round 11: Adelaide - November 4-5 (Supporting ACO Le Mans Cup)
Round 12: Highlands Motorsport Park - November 18-19
Round 13: Pukekohe - November 25-26
Round 14: Ruapana Raceway - December 2-3

Race formats will be sorted out later on, but it is expected that most rounds will consist of 2 30 minute races.

Drivers
The drivers in this series do not require any previous canon experience, however any canon experience will narrow the RNG range for driver values.

Teams
There are 40 full time cars, that can be split into 1 or 2 car teams. There are additional spots for privateers and guest entrants in 1 car teams. Privateer teams must nominate which events they are able to attend. Privateers will run in pre-qualifying at the rounds they nominate for.

Entry form
Please fill this out now as it would be good to get a start on making liveries right away. Please note that filling out this form does not guarantee you a full-time spot in this series, the full time entries will be determined at a later date.

Team Name:
Engine: (Ford, Holden, Mercedes, Nissan)
Driver #1: (name, preferred number and nationality)

Poor Adelaide. It's on the promo poster thingie but doesn't have a race '__'

Team Name: Leketus Motorsport
Engine: Holden
1st Driver: Ant Leketus (AUS) #13
2nd Driver: Will not be run
Team status: Privateer (Will only run Aussie rounds)
Sponsor: LM Custom Car Parts (A family run business)
Livery idea: Mainly orange, with some pink and like green as well.
For the sponsor logo, there would be the letters LM (joined together) in black inside yellow, 3 point crown, with a black border. The number (13) would be in italics, with the number being pink with a lime green border.

I might post pictures showing what I want them to look like, but I don't think I'll get round to it.

As expected, I'll paint my own livery. Unsure what the deal with numbers is, but if I can pick 'em then we'll take #19 and #20.

I can offer Alexey Pchelintsev and Roberto Dinella - both are available for drives for privateer teams looking to compete in just a few events or even a one-off. Obviously Dinella is already signed up to F2RWRS so will only be available for drives outside of those race weekends, but Alexey is a clean slate as of now so is open to all offers.

Full time entries will now be raised to 28 cars, however this series will not be first come, first served as this originally seemed. Entries will be open for two weeks, and the most suitable applicants will get a spot in the series (note: there may be preference to teams/drivers based in the countries this series runs in) - any team that is rejected can still enter as a privateer. Also, remember that you can enter a single-car team full time as well.
This is a cool spot.

Voeckler GPE wishes to tender for a two-car entry under the Lavezzi NISMO banner. Our strong links with Nissan, through both our running of their works Le Mans Cup effort, as well as our strong and wide relationship with Nissan's major partner Renault, makes us the ideal candidate to spearhead Nissan's efforts in the series. As part of Nissan's commitment to Australian motorsport, it is our intention to sign a deal with young Australian talent Anton de Pasquale, former champion of Australian Formula Ford and Formula Renault 1.6 NEC.

I heard our esteemed friend was still looking for a drive, after being turned down by Peak Motorsport in LMC...

Actually, pi or someone objected to him being in LMC...

Anyway, my entry:

Team Name: Peak Motorsport
Engine: Holden
Driver #1: #21 TBA
Driver #2: #25 TBA
Team status: Full-time preferable
Sponsors: Burger Fuel, 7-Eleven, Air New Zealand
Livery idea: Purple and Green

Peak Motorsport is based in Auckland, New Zealand.

The two race seats are offered to all drivers who are interested in competing in this series. This includes Lee Rogers, Tetsuya Takagi, Alexey Pchelintsev, Roberto Dinella and any others.

Okay, those are the most fake driver names I've seen in my life. Even Anthrax Japonica Bolognaise was more legit than that.

We'd like to remind people that there's a seat available at Telstra DMR. Enquire within. Sponsors are not necessary, but would be liked. :)
