Who will refuel the cars in 2010?
I understand that during the race refueling is banned in 2010, supposedly because of cost cutting so that teams don't have to transport refueling rigs around the world.
However, F1 cars will still need to get refueled during practice sessions and (I guess?) during qualifying. So how will they refuel, will FIA provide them with refueling, or will teams still have to carry around refueling equipment?
Enlighten me, please.

The current refuelling rigs are so complex beacuse they're for fuelling the enigne 'hot' (as in 'running')
Previously cars were generally just fuelled from a gravity-fed can in the garage - obviously with all systems turned off. If you're not refuelling hot, you don't need specialised equipment to do it.
I can't find it online, but there's a picture in manual for the original Formula One Grand Prix game of a Jordan 191 being fuelled - you took off the rear bodywork, including internal airbox, and there was a filler behind the headrest - they just had a big (green, shiny) metal BP can draining into there.

I coined the term "Lewisteria". The irony is that I actually quite like Lewis Hamilton.

But rest assured the F1 Jerry can still probably costs over $1000 for no discernible reason whatsoever. Other than it'll look real, real cool
"Grosjean has a great desire to turn around and look at the corner he's just gone through, too many times per lap or per session, he's always spinning that Renault"

Will they recycle the actual fuel rigs?

It'll be good to see no more cars dragging the fuel rig and the refueller half way down the pit lane with them anymore.

Will we start to see cars dragging mechanics out then?

You'd have to ask FOM about that one, as I believe that they were responsible for providing the fuel rigs (so that they could cut standardise the refuelling equipment). But what they are going to do with those fuel rigs is a good question - I assume that they might try to recycle them, assuming that there aren't any problem over contamination with the fuel, or flame retardants. Could they sell them to another series though - would they be compatible with something like an A1GP car, for example, or for the GP2 series?
Martin Brundle, on watching a replay of Grosjean spinning:

Sell them to another series where refuelling isn't banned (Le Mans Series perhaps?)

What, you mean attached to the wheel guns? It wouldn't happen anyway because they can just let go of them easy unlike a massive great fuel rig slung over your shoulder.

Well, a refuel ban will stop fuel rig incidents in the pits.

They won't get rid of them, they'll have to keep them for when Refueling is Unbanned in about 4 years or so.....
BTW: this isn't a Rant about Banning Refueling, it's simply a statement based on the FIA's Past rules decisions....

In that case, 4 years is quite slow. It'll be back for 2011 (they banned tyre changes for 2005, but brought them back after just one year)

Yeah because Tyre changing ban was a total and epic fail which resulted in dangerous situations. Think Räikkönen at nurburgring for example
I got Pointed Opinions and I ain't afraid to use em!

BTW, thats Räikkönen with two K's and two N's. Not Raikonnen (Raikkonen is fine if you have no umlauts though)

True but if they banned tyre stops again, then teams would have to find a way to overtake. Maybe not. Maybe just go home after quali......
