Ex- F1 driver and 2017 F5000 champion John Bean is extremely interested in co-piloting one of the Ferrari GT1 cars.

Meanwhile, rumours are swirling around the paddock that newly crowned AR 3.5 champion Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen is looking to join the grid as part of a "Racing for Holland" entry, with Jan Lammers reputedly pulling the strings, with Martin van der Meyde and Jeroen Bleekemolen other key members of the rumoured driving team. Nudge nudge, wink wink

Grenada's John Bovy, who also competed in this year's Touring Car Masters, is listening to all offers.

Blokkmonsta driver Travis Crabtree is looking for a drive in the enduro. A up-and-coming ARST driver he has notable experience that could work well in the GT2 class.

In addition, with the ACO Le Mans cup in the gutter Vic Sunset is looking for something to drive. Having driven Formula 1 cars in the 1990s and being set up for a LMP-1 drive in ACO he could do well in GT1, but he'll take a GT2 drive as well if needed.

Nonsensical Qualms

After the GTR Commision's announcement about the GTR-based teams that could or should run the Eskom Kyalami 9 Hours, the series current team champion, Union Saver Developments Board of Directors raised it's voice.
"We don't understand the issues of Commision about this race. Aside the fact that it's the off season, most of the GTR teams that can or could race here aren't even using the homologated models that are exclusive of the series. For all we know, it's like the GTR-C doesn't want us to develop the cars for the 2018 season"

Ricardo Llosa, USD's team leader and one half of the series driver champions also had some things to say. "From the perspective of the drivers, we all want to race, no matter the circumstances. The revival of a classic endurance race here in Kyalami is something to cheer up, and I clearly see no problem in it's running. it's not particulary harming GTR as it is whatsoever."

And don't forget the canon South Africans either; F1RWRS driver Danny van Rijkens and AR 2.0 driver Naas Botha. Though I probably wouldn't Botha with Naas, given how often he crashed into things :P

The Kurosawa lineup has been completed. Kazuki Fushida (yes, really) will be joining Nakajima in the #7 car, while Kazuki Hisakawa will be joining Kobayashi in the #8 car.

Yep, three Kazukis in one team, one of whom is an alt-F1 reject pushing 60! This should be fun :D

If anyone needs a driver, Danny van Rijkens will make the trip home for a special appearance to get the locals out to watch!

While Shizuka is integral to Trueba and Nissan's future plans, I think maybe he should take rest between the F1RWRS season finale and SANDWICH opener. So perhaps co-piloting the #25 Trueba Maserati MC12 can be of interest to him?
