Here's a collection of the liveries Miguel and I have done, if anyone's interested. Thanks, Miguel, for putting up with my "back-seat driver" tendencies!

While we wait for Pinkd to post his bids, here's the calendar:

Autosport wrote:Formula E calendar announced

The first season of Formula E is coming upon us, and today the FIA have announced the calendar of the series.

The series will have a 4 day pre-season test, held at Donington Park, during the weekend of 14th and 15th of September, and then 2 weeks later, in the 29th and 30th of September. This second date clashes with a ARWS round, so people will have to adjust driver choices for said test.

The season will begind about 2 months later in the first weekend of November, in the 4th, with the season opener beeing held at Malaysia, at Putrajaya, who will become the first ever host of a eletric motorsport race. This race will clash with a ARWS race, so teams will have to adjust line-ups accordingly.
We travel a bit far up north, to the Middle East, for the Dubai ePrix, at the Dubai Autodrome, in the 25th of November, clashing with the F1 season finale, so teams will have to adjust driver choices accordingly.
The calendar then comes for the first time to Europe, at Bucharest in the 23rd of December, taking then a detour to the American continent, first to Long Beach in the 20th of January and then to São Paulo, in the 9th of February.

The season returns to Europe for the final 3 rounds. Firstly, at Brands Hatch, on the 14th of April, with the return of the "Kent" name to a race, popularised by F1RWRS during the start of the decade, and then the return of Anderstorp to a FIA calendar since it hosted the WTCC races back in the 2010's, on the 12th of May, with the series double-header finale beeing held at Paris, in the weekend of 1st and 2nd of June, in the famous Circuit de Charles de Gaulle.

Full FE Calendar:
1st Round: Putrajaya ePrix - Putrajaya Street Circuit (4th November)
2nd Round: Dubai ePrix - Dubai Autodrome (25th November)
3rd Round: Bucharest ePrix - Bucharest Ring (23rd December)
4th Round: Long Beach ePrix - Long Beach Street Circuit (20th January)
5th Round: São Paulo ePrix - São Paulo Street Circuit (9th February)
6th Round: Scandinavian ePrix - Anderstorp Raceway (14th April)
7th Round: Kent ePrix - Brands Hatch (12th May)
8th Round: Parix ePrix - Circuit Charles de Gaulle (1st June and 2nd June)

This means some things:
The second weekend of pre-season testing clashes with a ARWS race, so ARWS drivers can't attend the test.
The first race of the season at Putrajaya clashes with a ARWS race, so ARWS drivers can't attend Putrajaya.
The second race of the season at Dubai clashes with a F1 race, so F1 drivers can't attend Dubai.

Teams will have to addopt driver line-ups accordingly.

Since, technically, Indy Star Mazda was stripped from canon status, Ken Wyn Jones is a canon rookie and therefore isn't allowed... Sorry.

You can still sign real life drivers though, so I advise you post a list of 3-4 drivers who you would like to have in your team.

In an official statement earlier today, Michael Andretti confirmed a sponsorship agreement with Swiss company TE Connectivity. The deal, which will run for six seasons, will influence the as-of-yet unpublished Andretti livery and change the official team name to TE Connectivity Andretti Autosport.

"It is a very helpful deal for both sides," a spokesperson for the electronics company, "it gives our company exposure in a modern form of motorsport and it helps Andretti and Formula E by demonstrating that businesses are willing to invest long-term into the sport."

Good news! Livery time. Took me ages to think of a design, so if you think another mainly white livery is one too many, you can go suck it! :P

Hopefully I've mirrored the logos right, thanks for the tip on that Ataxia. Any chance of a preview please Miguel, just to see if I need to change anything?

Autosport wrote:Formula E announces "press release" plan for teams

The new FIA series, the first ever electric open-wheel series, Formula E have announced a brand new rule regarding press releases from teams.

Alejandro Agag, the series director, has claimed: "We at Formula E want to embrance social networks full time. The idea is that teams need to write a press release based on the weekend we just been. Opinions about the circuit, drivers's declarations about the race, a manager opinion about the weekend.

It can't be short texts. It needs to be well written, in order to engange fans in a way never seen before."

The Formula E pre-season test is due to happen at Donington Park in the weekend of 14th and 15th of September, and then in 29th and 30th of September as well.

So, what this means:
Every time needs to post, at the end of a race, a press release about the race.
The press release must include:
-> Drivers Opinions about track/race
-> Manager Opinions about track/race
-> Overall Assessment of the weekend.

If a team fails to post this during 3 races, they are ejected from the series.

Also, since the pre-season test is getting close, here's the form:

Code: Select all

Team Name:
Day 1 Drivers:
Day 2 Drivers:
Day 3 Drivers:
Day 4 Drivers:

I'll remind that the second pre-season test is held on the same weekend as the ARWS race, so ARWS drivers can't be entered in Day 3 and 4.

Nah, sorry. I don't like this. I'm all for a check-in rule like what Nuppiz did with AR3.5 but to stipulate what has to go into these posts is silly. More often than not there's very little to comment on unless you either win, podium, get an unexpected result or crash/get taken out. I'm not writing lengthy posts after every weekend when all you'll end up having is 14 posts saying pretty much the same rubbish. I haven't the time nor interest. If you just want short soundbites then you'll get all 14 owners saying the race was good/bad, I like/don't like the track and the weekend overall has been good/bad. Let's have a bit of freedom and do things sensibly.

Henry Paul can't drive in day 3, since he's doing GBRC at the time.

Due to future plans Nicolas Steele will not be racing the first two rounds of Formula E.

For this we will bid for the following drivers to take his place for the first two races (in order of preference):

Pastor Maldonado
Takuma Sato
Felipe Nasr
Max Chilton
Jordan King

Current E wrote:Pagenaud steps down from Renault Voeckler seat, ALV to replace him

In a surprise twist, the first driver change of the season has occurred before the season is even underway, with Simon Pagenaud leaving the Reanult Voeckler squad, with the team's reserve Alexandre-Laurent Voeckler stepping up to take his place for the season instead.

"It's an unfortunate set of circumstances," explained team principal Jérémy-Étienne Voeckler. "IndyCar were a bit late in releasing their 2019 calendar, and it turns out there are multiple clashes between the two series next year."

"Certain stakeholders on both sides have made clear the only viable option is to have the same, consistent lineup during the course of the year, and so it's with a heavy heart we've had to end the arrangement with Simon, before it even really began."

Despite the setback, Voeckler is confident that replacement Alexandre-Laurent - who also happens to be his son - will bring the same quality to the team as his predecessor.

"Alex was the right choice in this situation. He was the reserve, he has tested the car, knows the ins and outs, and has plenty of experience at the top level of motorsport, having been a factory driver for Renault in Formula 1 in the past. In the absence of Simon, he is the best choice for the seat."

The senior Voeckler was also quick to refute any notion of nepotism on his part, saying that his son's resume more than justified his place in the team.

"If you look at his career history, the result's he's scored, his age and profile, he is an excellent candidate for the drive, no matter his surname or family history. He knows what is expected from him, and just like anyone else, if he under-performs, he won't be here for next season. He has to meet the same high standards we expect of all our drivers."

Autosport wrote:Albertini tops first day of FE testing

The first day of pre-season testing for Formula E was up for everyone to see at Donington Park. The hour long session saw Jean-Vincent Albertini from the National Academy of Motorsport UK squad top the session, just a few hundreds clear of MRT driver Philippe Nicolas and a tenth faster than ABT driver Romain Grosjean, who rounded up the top 3.
Nico Rosberg was 4th fastest in the session for ICE-3 Melkus, while Sergio Perez tries to revive his carrer by beeing 5th fastest today for Hunter Tesla, followed by the Voeckler Renault of Pagenaud and the surprise of the session, John Bryant-Meisner in the other National Academy car beeing 7th fastest, a couple of tenths down on Albertini. Lotterer, who focused more on race simulation was 8th fastest, with Kubica and Buemi rounding up the top 10 positions.

Autosport wrote:Nicolas goes fastest in day 2 of FE testing

MRT ARWS driver Phillippe Nicolas has gone fastest in the second day of Formula E pre-season testing. The french driver went faster than Albertini's first day time, as he went less than a tenth faster than Voeckler Renault driver Sebastien Buemi. Rounding up the top 3 is former F1 driver Andre Lotterer in the CWG, 1.7 tenths off the best time. Sergio Perez was 4th fastest, while Albertini rounded up the top 5 of the day.

Lucas Di Grassi was the best of ABT drivers, as the german team seemed more focused on race pace today, as Di Grassi was 6th fastest and Grosjean rounded up the top 10. Between them, there was Pascal Wehrlein, 4 time Formula 1 WC Daniel Melrose and Nico Hülkenberg.

Autosport wrote:Sergio Perez tops 3rd day of FE pre-season testing

It was Hunter Electric Team Tesla driver Sergio Perez that topped the third day of the Formula E pre-season testing, with the ex-Valerian F1 driver topping the time sheets ahead of CWG driver Daniil Kvyat, with Jean-Vincent Albertini beeing 3rd fastest in the National Motorsport Academy car. Daniel Melrose finally showed strong pace, to go 4th fastest overall, with Nico Rosberg 5th fastest of the day.

Simon Pagenaud was 6th fastest in the Voeckler, with Robert Kubica, Pascal Wehrlein, Nico Hulkenberg and Alexandre-Laurent Voeckler rounding up the top 10. This day of testing was marked by an inccident involving Daniil Kvyat and Joey Mawson, which ended the MRT driver day early on, as he was at the bottom of the timing sheets, while Kvyat's car returned to the pits to get repaired. Kvyat went for a move into the hairpin, but hit the australian driver when he locked up, damaging the MRT beyond repair.
