Here you go:
Code: Select all
Alan Taylor -PD, brings 10CR
Erkut Kilizirmak- PD, brings 10CR
Simon Blanckley - PD, brings 10CR
Richard Marsh-PD, brings 15CR
Jeff Smith- PD, brings 15CR
Arthur Forster- PD, brings 20CR
Tony Gilham - PD, brings 30CR (but requires your team to rebrand as [Team Name] Team HARD, complete with the awful livery)
You can choose any of them and run them for as little as one round and your 1CR debt will be cleared.

OK, though Forster may need more than a car upgrade to be competitive (not that it matters too much- I assume you're dumping him after Silverstone right?)

The upgrade is more for Plato than foster, foster will be dumped after Silverstone.

I *might* be able to run the Silverstone races today, and if not tomorrow, so here are the upgrades for next round.
Boulevard Engine Power I:
1-70 Success, 71-100 Fail
Result=51, so new entrants Boulevard make vital upgrades to their underpowered Toledo
Boulevard Engine Power II:
1-60 Success, 61-100 Fail
Result=66, but not all their testing is successful
Seat Race Pace:
1-60 Success, 61-100 Fail
Result=43- Seat improve their car, but probably not enough to cover the incoming (through temporary) rejectfulness of Arthur Forster.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Silverstone R22-24 Up!- 1 team availa
Here are the results from Rounds 22-24 from Silverstone:
Pre-Qualifying:
With Maxtreme promoted, the pre-qualifying at Silverstone was a lot closer, with Eurotech only two seconds faster than a much improved Boulevard team, who managed to force Dynamics out of qualifying for the first time this year.
Quali-1:
Mat Jackson set another pole position (his Motorbase BMW, while hopeless in the races, seems quick in this session), with Shedden second. Championship leader Plato was third, but the WSR drivers had a poor session, with Chilton 11th and Turkington only 13th. Forster, making a one-off appearance for Seat Sport, and the second Boulevard car of Martin Depper failed to qualify.
Race 1: (video coming soon)
Jackson lead off the start, before falling prey to James Thompson who led until around the halfway mark before being passed by Shedden and a charging Jason Plato. The latter two however had to pit due to high tyre wear on lap 16, handing the lead back to Thompson, who scored his first BTCC win in three years, with Michelisz second. Turkington made up nine places in the race to salvage fourth place, only a single position behind Plato, who also set fastest lap.
Quali-2:
Jackson managed yet another pole (in direct contrast to his hopeless race pace- if there was a "Dunlop ForeverBackward" award, he'd win it easily), with Reid second in the unreliable Peugeot 406. Turkington again left himself vunerable to Plato outscoring him again by qualifying a lowly 12th compared to 3rd for the Seat driver.
Race 2 (video coming soon):
Shedden took the lead early on, but Plato soon caught him, leading to one of the most dominant performances seen this year, with the Seat driver not troubled all race, at one point having a lead in double figures. To this end, he also set fastest lap. Turkington, by contrast, finished 13th, outside the points, seriously harming his challenge for the title. Priaulx finished his first race for Boulevard, but with such an underpowered car for this circuit, it was largely a lonely race for the former WTCC champion in 20th place. Alain Menu got the reverse pole for VXR.
Race 3 (video coming soon)
Alain Menu had a terrible start and by the end of lap one, the race for the lead was essentially over- Plato lead, building such a lead (with a series of fastest laps) that he could pit to address tyre wear near the end and still come out in front! Turkington finally had luck on his side during this race, and battled his way to second, catching Plato rapidly, but it was too late.

You only have 1CR left, but the Toledo's so hopeless I'll let you have one anyway (for half price), just so Boulevard can actually compete (I assume no one else has any real complaints about this). Remember, it is still possible for this upgrade to fail.

Anyway, feel free to sack drivers/ make upgrades before Rockingham (Arthur Forster will be sacked after Silverstone, as requested by andrew). Dexter249/Triple 8 VXR, you still need to run a pay driver before the end of the season to counter debt, but I can offer a (not brilliant) compromise if you want to keep with Giovanardi/Menu- if you end in debt, I will let you keep running 888, but you will lose Vauxhall backing, like in real life (also some money will go). This I hope is probably a little fairer, as Vauxhall did pull out because 888's BTCC operation was loss-making.[/quote]
TCBY, how about if he doesn't reply, you pick a pay driver to replace Menu for him at brands hatch. You need to be consistent with the rules I personally think as it could be deemed unfair that I had to run a pay driver and yet he doesn't need to.
I'm just taking on the role of Jason Plato (moaning at every possible opportunity) joking. But seriously I think you should apply the pay driver rule to all.

I'm still hoping he replies at some point, but I see your point and will.mull it over. As for the lack of Rockingham results, I am very, very busy at the moment so may have to wait until mid- next week when normal service will be resumed. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

That is in itself inconsistent. If you are making management decisions on behalf of someone else, ones that aren't grinding the entire game to a halt (an exception might be a regular driver getting injured and a replacement not being nominated in a timely fashion), then it's unfair that the role of the series runner to intervene in a way that aids one of the competitors. It is not their place to save competitors from themselves. Participants should be free to run teams into the ground if their negligence leads them there.
Let VXR run the same lineup until the end of the season, and go bankrupt as a consequence. It's standard practise everywhere else in the PMMF, so should be the case here too.

I was trying to be diplomatic about it, something seat never were. That would have been my next suggestion as well because if we look at this objectively he was in debt as soon as the silly season ended. TCBY informed both me and him of the rule on the 25th of October a week later he replied so he knows of the rule. Certainly letting VXR goimg bankrupt could help me in the long case (and I have completely lost the point I am making here so will stop)

That was my idea with the original compromise solution, as I feel cautious about choosing other people's actions or bankrupting them while they're not there. Oh well, I guess we'll just have problems if/ when MG appears.

We'll run a paydriver In place of Menu for the next round, as Menu is out of contention for the championship, Giovanardi will stay for the full season.

Thank you for responding- you can choose any from the list I gave Andrew earlier that provide over 15CR and your debt is cleared.

The way things are going, I might be able to post Rockingham results as early as Monday the coming week, so here the upgrade RNGs prior to the event:
Boulevard Engine Power:
1-60 Success, 61-100 Fail
Result=42, so Boulevard find more power after being given special discretion by the organisers to do so, for the sake of ensuring a vague semblance of competitiveness
Seat Race Pace:
1-50 Success, 51-100 Fail
Result= 57, so the Leon TDI's constant development has hit a brick wall
Arena Race Pace:
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result=69, meaning Arena's final upgrades of the year are successful, which should help them fend off the closing GR Asia for 5th in the championship

Um... Guys, I'm having an issue running the Rockingham races- everybody's crashing with tyre failures. I did a test run and Chris James won with only four finishers, so this can't be right. Any ideas?

Have you messed with the track magic data or tyre wear rates at all?

Given my championship position I am likely to come up with a biased option, so therefore will not suggest anything.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Rockingham R25-27 Up!- Plato Champion
Sorry for all the delays, but I have now managed to fix the magic data issue (it was actually running out of fuel, strangely corrected by reducing the CC fuel ), so here are long delayed results for the penultimate rounds at Rockingham:
Pre-Quali:
Erm... unfortunately I accidentally overwrote this file when trying to fix the data, but (from memory) Eurotech easily made it through, though Boulevard were much closer with clear air between them and a slumping Dynamics, who were alongside tail-enders BTC in not pre-qualifying.
Quali-1:
Anthony Reid took pole at the circuit where he showed much pace on Media Day, with Jackson alongside him on the front row. Championship leader Plato lined up fourth, but WSR put on a mediocre showing, Chilton ninth and Turkington a poor twelfth.
Race 1 (video here
Shedden had the best start, and led almost the entire race. He did not have it easy, however, as, well ahead of the main field, he was involved in a three-way battle with Thompson and Coronel, with Plato joining in later, having set fastest lap catching up- the Scotsman held off all three. Matt Neal finally got to show the speed of the C30 again with a fine, albeit rather lonely fifth place, while for the most of the race almost everybody else was sixth, stuck in a Trulli Jackson Train, most making it past the BMW driver, including Andy Priaulx, who managed to drag the recalcitrant Toledo into ninth in a furious midfield. At the other end of this queue, Colin Turkington had a torrid time, finishing well outside the points after suffering a poor start and getting caught up in a number of collisions with tail-enders. In fact, no BMWs made it into the top 10 in Race 1 at all, suffering from a complete lack of pace.
Quali-2:
Reid got pole again, with Race 1 winner Shedden alongside. Plato qualified third, but Turkington struggled again, lining up 10th. Depper and VXR substitute Arthur Forster failed to qualify.
Race 2: (video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x54tfld)
Reid led for the first lap, but was soon passed by a stream of cars led by eventual winner Shedden. The Arena cars performed much better in Race 2, Collard a season-best second place with Adam fourth, being split by Plato, who also set fastest lap, signalling the death-knell for Turkington's championship ambitions. The WSR driver had a decent getaway and was closing in on the points places in the early stages of the race, before being sent spinning into a gravel trap by Norbert Michelisz, dropping him to the back from which he could only recover to 20th. Matt Neal and Anthony Reid again had decent, breakdown-free races, in fifth and seventh respectively. Michelisz got the most power for the reverse grid, (but Chilton got the pole).
Race 3: (video here)
Tom Chilton led from lights to flag, but when lapping backmarkers, the chasing Reid (who managed to get his first podium of the year) and Plato (who set fastest lap again got very close (Within a second) to him, leading to a tense few closing laps. Turkington, after starting from a lowly position again, put in a spirited drive to fight his way to fourth place, only two seconds behind Plato, but it was too little, too late- he had lost the championship.

Clyde Valley Racing has managed to win the Independent Teams' title in their debut year, with a 98 point lead all but confirming them as champions.
Although three of the five championships have been finalised, there is still anticipation to see who takes the teams' (and constructors' ) crown at the season finale at the Brands Hatch circuit. Feel free to make upgrades or sack drivers (though methinks you're leaving it a bit late) before the final round, which I plan to run by next Monday at the latest.

Clyde Valley Racing will sack Gordon Shedd....
Huzzah! Winning both of the titles we were only ever realistically in contention for, with a weekend to go, is a fantastic result for the season. I just hope the resulting prize money means we can hire a non-pleb for the other car in 2010.

Would you guys be okay with me running the final rounds tomorrow, as i have the day off. It would mean that any upgrades (though why you are doing this so late I have no idea) will have to be told to me rather quickly (before midday tomorrow probably)

One thing I'd like to know quickly before you press ahead is whether left over budgets from this year will roll over into the next season.

Yes they will, and all teams will get prize money (in a hierarchy from first to last) as well.

I just need confirmation from Dexter249 whether Menu will be back in the second Vauxhall at Brands Hatch and I can run those rounds. (nobody seems to want to upgrade or sack drivers)

Menu Will be in the Second Vauxhall this round,
FIAT Group, finding loopholes in the FIA rulebook since it's inception.

Sure, although if you waited, you could take over Amd Tuning or Forster next year instead. Post your car and driver choices in the next couple of days and you can be there at Brands Hatch.

OK, thanks! Here we go!This Could Be You wrote:Sure, although if you waited, you could take over Amd Tuning or Forster next year instead. Post your car and driver choices in the next couple of days and you can be there at Brands Hatch.
AFM Racing
Chassis
BMW 120d (10CR)
If we don't get the above, then we'll need to figure out conversion to diesel or LPG or something for some of the other cars on offer, because we refuse to use anything that runs on petrol, unless we're dead broke, in which case we might.
Driver #1
- Dan Eaves, to lead the team (15CR)
- OK, Tom Boardman will do, then (10CR)
- Nick Leason (2CR)
Driver #2
- My man, mah mayn mahn, Tom Ferrier, will be getting the chance he deserves in a competitve car in the BTCC. I know you haven't got any money, Tom, but I'll give you a free ride in my car (0CR)
- Eugene O'Brien (-5CR). I must be mad letting him return to the BTCC in one of my cars.
- Heck, I'll do it myself; Rick Kerry (0CR)
This outing at Brands Hatch will be mostly a test session for us.

Your entry seems OK, although I'll have to make up talent files for Ferrier based on his past results.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Rockingham R25-27 Up!- Plato Champion
As promised (though admittedly a bit late) here the results for the final rounds of the 2009 Virtual BTCC:
Pre-Qualifying:
The AFM Racing team made their belated return to the series for Brand Hatch GP pre-qualifying, and surprised everyone by topping the session, having two consistent drivers paying off. Eurotech also pre-qualified, though not as safely as Boulevard got very close to beating them.
Quali-1:
Shedden took pole for round 28, putting in him just one point behind Turkington in the fight for second, with Jackson second. Both AFM cars qualified, Eaves and Ferrier dragging the underdeveloped 120ds to credible 16th and 17th places on the grid. Tempus' Marko Asmer and Eurotech's Chris James therefore failed to qualify.
Race 1 (video here, there are some display issues with it)
Shedden got the best start and led the first half of the race, Giovanardi shading him. The Italian then managed to take the lead, but by then Jason Plato, after a series of fastest laps, had caught them up, taking the lead and then building an unassailable gap; the newly crowned champion clearing wasn't resting on his laurels. WSR was still struggling to find any pace in their BMWs, with Turkington only 7th and Chilton outside the points, dropping the former to third in the championship. At the back of the field, the AFM BMWs of Eaves and Ferrier, which had dropped back at the start both retired with suspension failure mere metres from eachother.
Quali-2:
This time Mat Jackson scored the point for pole, with Shedden beside him. Tom Coronel was an impressive third, and Dan Eaves improved his grid position by one place to 15th for Race 2. Marko Asmer and Henry Ho in the Peugeot 407 failed to qualify.
Race 2: (video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x55gj5t)
Shedden again took an early lead, being chased by Coronel this time round. The Dutchman took the lead off Shedden, but much like Giovanardi in Race 1, he immediately had a charging Plato in a factory Seat in his mirrors. Coronel fended the faster car off well for several laps, but the champion got past on lap 14. Turkington had a much better race, but continued to fall behind Shedden in the championship as he failed to beat the CVR driver, even after he spun late in the race. AFM recorded their first finish, albeit last of the runners and with crash damage on Ferrier's car after a pile-up involving the 888 drivers. James Nash, who finished eighth got the reverse pole.
Race 3: (video here
Nash lost the lead by the first corner, with Arena's Rob Collard instead placing himself into a position he wouldn't relinquish for the rest of the race, taking his only victory of the year, and a comfortable one at that. Behind however, things were more interesting; the RML cars of Nash and Thompson initially ran second and third, but when the 2004 champion made past, Nash was quickly caught by a chasing pack of Plato, Shedden and Michelisz, the four-car group squabbling for position all race. Also notable was the attrition; Tom Ferrier had the ingominy of engine failure within the first couple of laps, and Colin Turkington's ultimately disappointing season ended quietly with suspension failure not long after, which led to many unfancied cars vying for point, such as Onslow-Cole in the Motorbase car in 9th, Dan Eaves also looking on target before his engine detonated likes his teammate when running in 13th. Jason Plato set the final fastest lap of the season.
So, with the season over, here are the final standings for 2009:
Drivers Championship After R1-30

The Motorbase drivers were completely equally matched in the end on 34 points, while Adam Jones' points total of only 8 highlighted a very disappointing season full of poor luck and missed oppurtunities. 11 drivers failed to score over the course of the season.

Even after choking away their chances at a drivers' title and seeming off the pace in the final few races, West Surrey Racing held onto the Teams championship, albeit with a much reduced margin. CVR improved to an incredible third place in their first year in the series, beating reigning champions VX Racing among others, while series stalwarts such as Motorbase, Eurotech and Dynamics floundered, the latter recording its worst finish ever of 15th. Only late entry AFM failed to score.

CVR won the Independent teams' championship by a huge margin to top off a near-perfect debut, GR Asia over 100 points behind in second (yet nearly 100 ahead of everybody else). Only Boulevard and AFM scored less than 50 points in what was a very competitive season as a whole.
To recap:
Drivers' Champion: Jason Plato (GBR, Seat Sport UK)
Teams' Champion: West Surrey Racing
Constructors' Champion: West Surrey Racing/ BMW
Independent Drivers' Champion : Gordon Shedden (GBR, Clyde Valley Racing)
Independent Teams' Champion : Clyde Valley Racing
There is still one award left to give, and that up to you to award: the John B&Q Reject of the Year Award 2009! Simply nominate your top three worst drivers/teams/cars and these will be collated (alongside my opinion) to award this. You have until next week to nominate your picks, and feel free to offer any feedback which can be used to help improve the running of this series for 2010 (I know it hasn't been perfect, what with the repeat races, Seat issues and GP2 self-destructing twice, but oh well).

Plato's final winning margin was a relatively large 70 points over Gordon Shedden, who pipped Turkington for second place in the championship at the final round.
