FREE FOR ALL - The World Championship with No Rules!

Post by Ataxia »

Since I've had a few issues with people following any rules in my ASMF series, there will be no such mistakes in this series, because there are no rules. Well, none that you have to follow.

All you need to do is enter your teams, do whatever you can to anticipate an advantage over your competitors; the only limit is your own creativity! There will be some races, although the format and venue will be selected at random, so prepare for all eventualities!

Round 1 - The Kessel Run

Race preview: The Kessel Run is a notorious space route, used by smugglers to transport goods from Kessel; the system has agreed to host a race in tribute to this. The Millenium Falcon, having achieved this in less than 12 parsecs in the past, is undoubtedly the favourite here. It will face stiff competition from Space Cult Grand Prix, as well as Team Gallifrey, who all have space-going vehicles.

Teams expected to struggle with the Kessel run are the land vehicles, and although they are expected to perform at the very beginning of the race, their overall lack of capability off of the ground may stymie any further progress.

Race weekend

Due to rain, the event was cancelled.

Oh dear. We had misheard the name of the race and thought it was the "Kassel Run". Now we're stranded in Germany!

I dispute that win, because Team Gallifrey's TARDIS is not only a space machine, but is also a time machine. So even though the event was cancelled, we competed anyway and completed the event before we began it! So :P

Round 2 - Castle Combe

Race Preview: One of the UK's most famous club racing circuits, Castle Combe has spent a lot of money to host this event. A mix of land and air vehicles will ensure a relatively level playing field, as the skyborne competitors will have to fly carefully to cover the circuit correctly. Rocket-powered vehicles, with their lack of turning ability, are expected to struggle.

Race weekend:

After the Millenium Falcon started up its hyperdrive, the event was cancelled having exceeded the local noise limits.

Therefore the DeLorean wins for having starter motor troubles and a ruptured fuel line, therefore making no noise whatsoever! The TARDIS, equally, could not be heard, thanks to its perception filter.
