But BioBiro, i do strongly suggest the FIA pays for a therapist costs for Serra, who finally thought he was good enough, only to have been wrongly credited with a qualification. Obviously he is now in an existential crisis, and our results will suffer greatly from his reduced self-esteem!
I suggest a free driver session! (hey, i can only try to get something out of it, right?) Just saying, be careful with giving out compensations too easily....

No, it's not; it means other teams pay for my mistakes.

Unfortunately, there's nowhere else I can take it from.

Your improved qualifying performance at Monaco is a positive sign for the RAM team. If you can qualify just one of your cars, you'll be guaranteed some half-decent TV money in the future! ;)

In case I've not said so already, I'd like to pile all the D&T opportunities into next year's car please. I feel a bit sorry for Andrea de Cesaris, but we're really trying to give him a competitive car next year.

Round 7 - Canadian Grand Prix, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, 17th June 1984

Qualifying Results:
The untouchable McLaren team hogged the front row. Another spectacular qualifying result from a Tyrrell, with Warwick starting third, just in front of Patrese's Brabham. Great performance from Senna and his Williams, qualifying seventh, well ahead of Alboreto's Renault. Both Lotus' were in the top ten, and the Alfas were tenth and eleventh. Streiff started fifteenth in the sole Spirit, after a somewhat reckless series of qualifying laps, which saw him run out of fuel on the last one.

Race Results:
Car-breaker Canada! Piquet made nary a mistake, and was exiting the L'Epingle hairpin on the last lap when the race was stopped. Wilson was back-once-again with her ill behaviour, finishing a superb second, which put her fourth in the championship. Cheever tail-gated the South African for a while, before being unable to keep up the pace. Lauda drove a steady race from a poor starting position, but it was a golden occasion for the German ATS team, with one of their cars finishing, and both scoring points. Johansson's retirement - three laps from the finish - was something of a misnomer; some form of engine-related failure appeared to be the cause of his one-way trip into the grass. In a not-dissimilar vein, the brief, mid-race rain shower had caught Patrese out, who spun his rear wheels in a shallow puddle when his turbo kicked-in.

BioBiro, you gave Ferrari the wrong upgrades. I asked for 2x engine dev upgrades, not DF + 1985 car.

God blast it, I must have got yours mixed-up with Lotus one next to it; seems reading people's posts is the achilles heel of my organizational skills.


As stated earlier, we will provide compensation at a rate of 25% of the upgrade cost, for all upgrade mistakes made, now and future.

Round 8 - Detroit Grand Prix, Detroit, 24th June 1984

Qualifying Results:
It's a long, slippery lap at Detroit, and strong wind on Saturday would make laptimes over five seconds slower than practice times. Warwick delivered his much-threatened, but never-delivered, pole position - the Tyrrell-Renault chassis and engine package consistently punching well above its weight. Arnoux and Piquet were under half-a-second behind, and tremendous performances from de Angelis and Prost would put them fourth and fifth on the grid. Brabham's new owner had put development into mechanical grip earlier in the year, and it paid off at another slow track, here. The Toleman's power deficit could again be ignored, and their solid chassis had both Boutsen and Jones qualifying in the top twenty. Baldi and Johansson put their backmarker cars into the midgrid, while the Williams the Renault teams were way off the pace. Great drive from Daccò to beat the Ligier and Minardi below him.

Race Results:
The ultra-low grip track surface provided little in the way of traction, and resulted in five late-race crashes. Watching the field slip and slide on a completely dry circuit entertained the crowd, many of whom seemed to have little idea of who the drivers and teams were. At the front, it was a steady procession from the McLaren team-mates, who swarmed Warwick from the start. On lap fourteen, Arnoux passed the Tyrrell, with Piquet in tow. Arnoux would eventually win by just four seconds in a close finish. Warwick would later nearly be caught by Patrese's Brabham, but hung on for a well deserved podium. Further down the field, Detroit proved to be no car-breaker, and steady drives throughout the field saw the Lotus, Williams and ATS teams all finish the race with both cars running.

Ferrari President, Enzo Ferrari, has spoken outwardly in the press through late 1983 and early 1984, that Ferrari will field a third car for Pironi should he decide to return.

Didier Pironi, with the support of his friends, family and Faezna, has decided he is ready to return to competitive Grand Prix racing.

After (extremely) protracted discussion between the FIA, Ferrari, Pironi, and sizeable legal counsels representing the interests of all three, the FIA have agreed that – in the event of Pironi entering mid-season – he is to be awarded half-points, rather than be considered ineligible for points due to his late entry.

* Sign Pironi. You will use, and be charged for, your next D&T opportunity immediately, to expand the team. You will be charged Pironi's salary, minus the races already taken place this season (a total of £1,200,000, payable immediately). You will be charged (25% extra) for additional engines on your supply contract, minus the races already taken place this season (a total of £625,000, payable immediately). Your team will, from now-on, be charged the higher-prices of three-car D&T costs, which will also give your team bigger D&T rewards from each opportunity used. Your third car will be eligible for half-points. You will not automatically be expected to run a three-car team in 1985; you are free, along with all other teams, to decide the size of your entry for next season.
* Refuse. This will primarily reduce your manufacturer support income for 1985, as well as negatively impact relations with the parent company, which could have lesser negative impacts on your team (for instance, a lack of funding for Ferrari's engine development programme in the medium-term future).


The Ferrari team are requested to respond to this event.

Ferrari team management are cautious but accepting of the request to run Pironi - but he must be aware that if he cannot qualify the car within 4 events, he will be dropped from the lineup.

Our other D&T token will be spent on engine development.
