2019 FIA F2 - Curitiba posted! Post-Season test until 10/01!

Post by Miguel98 »

Welcome to the second season of the FIA Formula 2 championship. Here's the entire rule book:

Race Weekend Structure:
Race weekend are made out of two 100km races, preceded by 30 minute qualifying sessions.
The final race of the year will feature a 200km race only.

Driver and Teams:
We will be having 15 teams on the grid next year, with 30 cars making the race.
Teams can have 2 drivers, and a reserve driver (in case injury happens through a weekend).
Drivers can be real life or canon driver. Real life drivers will be subject to RNG, and canon drivers to DEC aproval.
A driver in Formula 2 can't be older than 32 years old, and can't have more than 20 ARWS or F1 races.
Each team will nominate a home race, where their drivers will get a performance bonus.

Points Scheme:
1st - 15 Points
2nd - 12 Points
3rd - 10 Points
4th - 8 Points
5th - 6 Points
6th - 5 Points
7th - 4 Points
8th - 3 Points
9th - 2 Points
10th - 1 Point
Pole Position - 2 Points

Stewarding:
Drivers will be subjected to penalty points in case they have misconduct throughout a race weekend.
In case a driver gets 10 penalty points in their license, they loose 5 championship points. Incurring 20 penalty points equals a race weekend ban, and incuring 30 penalty points means a 1 year ban.
Penalty points means also a race grid penalty for next race, while mid-weekend gearbox and engine failures grants you a 5 place grid drop.

Waiting List:
1. OsellaFA1L
2. Normal32
3. kevinbotz
4. Simtek
5. pi3141
6. roblomas52
7. Pinkd56
8. FantometteBR
9. alg2159
10. Gonzalez
11. Dom

I need everyone with a 2018 team to confirm your entry. Post saying if you want to carry on into 2019 or not. You have 1 week to do.

Nebula will cease to run RUSSIAN TIME, instead merging the team with Super Nova and selling a portion to Best In The World to form "HYPERNOVA Racing".

Blessed be HYPERNOVA, in all of her glory.

Despite the complete weirdness of having teams in ARWS and the F1 junior ladder, Gillet will continue entering this series, because Tony Gillet detests change. He's that kind of guy.

Our rivalry with Gillet and some reasonable heritage in the series is what keeps RonDen going in here as well. Also despite not having a presence in F1. But also not in ARWS for that matter. We just like feeder series more.

Oh yeah i should've checked the wiki first, my bad. Well, leave him out and go for the other 3 (which should be valid) And i should've also foreseen that Gillet woud choose Belgacom as sponsor, so Proximus will be the second sponsor! (it's still the same company though :P )

Autosport wrote:FIA announces final Formula 2 calendar

The FIA have announced the final draft of the 2019 FIA Formula 2 calendar. The main feeder series calendar will feature 29 races across the year: the big change from last year beeing that the final race of the year, held at Curitiba, will be held in the traditional F1 format; a 200km race with two obligatory pitstops, in order to test whose really ready for F1.

Compared to last year, the calendar sees names like Calder Park and Karjala dropped, with the series holding 4 standalone events away from the F1 paddock: one at Sepang, supporting PES, one at Zolder, one at Poznan - a new circuit in the calendar - and one at Motorland Aragon, as the rumours of the return of the Spanish Grand Prix continue to climb around the F1 paddock.

The final calendar is here:
1st Round: Okayama International Circuit - 2/3 March
2nd Round: Bahrain International Circuit - 30/31 March
3rd Round: Sepang International Circuit - 6/7 April
4th Round: Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari - 27/28 April
5th Round: Zolder - 11/12 May
6th Round: Nürburgring - 1/2 June
7th Round: Poznan - 6/7 July
8th Round: Donington Park - 24/25 August
9th Round: Circuit Charles de Gaulle - 7/8 September
10th Round: Circuit Zandvoort - 14/15 September
11th Round: Motorland Aragon - 28/29 September
12th Round: Yas Marina Circuit - 19/20 October
13th Round: Marina Bay Street Circuit - 2/3 November

Silva signs deal with Campos
It has been confirmed that Miguel Silva has signed a deal with Campos Grand Prix in order to compete in the 2019 Formula 2 season. Silva, who formerly drove for the Red Bull World Race Team, said in a recent statement that he is looking forward to working with his new team. "Campos are a very professional and well run team, I am looking forward to driving for them. It is a new challenge, but I am confident that we can be competitive right from round 1.
Deal accepted

On an unrelated note, is it too late to change my livery design idea? After seeing my AR2.0 cars turn out well, I would like them to be painted black and blue in a similar way if possible?
