Cooper most likely is planning to enter 5 races. I'm likely sticking to the T41.
Due to our co-operation with Maserati, i can not decide to lower our prices on my own, but 35000/25000/55000 defenitely proved to be way too expensive for what we have in offer. The car is getting old, so i suggest simply reducing it to merely the construction prize (25000) and the engines to below 20000 and the package to below 45000. Simply nobody is going to pay much more for our cars. Especially considering that you can get Gordinis or Oscas for less money.

I figured that 1957 might be good to enter Ecurie Maarsbergen as a privateer in Netherlands and possibly Germany and Belgium. I'd like to wait to see which manufacturers will be available before i buy something. I suppose that buying a Cooper would be considered 'conflict of interest' ?

I would not recommend lowering a package below £40 000, as this is below build cost. Most manufacturers sell at a profit, around £45 000. Ultimately the pricing is up to you, though.

As for Maarsbergen, if you want to avoid a lot of headaches, I'd recommend entering as a budget-less privateer, which only requires renting cars from other teams. You may not rent cars from teams you own, but nothing's stopping you from loaning a Cooper from another team, or getting someone else to loan yours for you.

The 40000 was a typo. Typos aren't helping my cause :D I'll correct it. Well, Maarsbergen will wait, renting is certainly an option, as there's no Porsches available (and De Beaufort might be rich, but not rich enough to enter a works team) There might get new manufacturers involved and they have time until the first Germanic speaking race of the season.

Since Simtek has formally left the Forum, i will have to resume control of Centro Sud, but because of my team Connaught in which i will also be entering this season, i will be altering my management between the 2 teams on altering races for the time being.

Vanwall is ready to supply Owen Racing Organisation with their finest British-built racing machinery.

In anticipation of a new chassis design for this year, the VW55 will be dropped from Vanwall's manufacturing schedule. We'll likely design a new engine as well (the current design is two years old by now), but until we know more about the revised costs we won't lock into any plans yet.

The existing VW55s still in stock will be sold at a discount price of £15 000 (£13 500 for British customers). Vanwall VW56 chassis 4 is on sale for £24 000 (£23 000 for British customers). The price of a new VW56 is £27 500 (£27 000 for British customers).

Used, but factory refurbished 254 engines are available for £12 000 (£10 000 for British customers). New 254 engines will cost £16 000 (£15 500 for British customers).

Package deals (chassis + engine) carry additional discounts; these will be negotiated separatedly with each customer.

Vanwall 254 engine 2 will be refurbished and put in storage. Vanwall 254 engine 6 is deemed a total loss and will be sold for scrap metal.

Ecurie Voeckler intends to return as a non-budgeted privateer in 1957. We hope to enter the French, Belgian, Dutch, British and German GPs. We hope that Gordini will consider renting us a package for these events, given their extremely close proximity to our team base in Paris.

Ecurie Ecosse will return for the British and Irish GPs, and have agreed a rental deal with B.C.M.A for a full package at each event.

With this announcement, Scuderia Centro-Sud intends to continue in 1957, with an aim of attending all European races bar Monaco.

Rob Walker Racing formally announce their intention to run the whole 1957 campaign. They will buy two Lotus 10 chassis from Team Lotus at cost price, and buy two OSCA engines at $12 500 each, as agreed to with Pi. Lotus themselves will not be entering any races in 1957, but plan to return in 1958 with an all-new car.

OSCA confirm the deal with Rob Walker. I'll decide on building a new engine once the new RNG ranges and costs are posted. Since I promised Rob Walker the latest specification of engines, they will be delivered once I have decided whether to build a new engine.

O.S.C.A. will design a new engine for 60,000, the OSCA 1557, which will be available to customers for 17,500. Rob Walker will receive the new engines for the previously agreed price.

Our existing OSCA 1500S-56 engines will be available to customers for 12,500.

The OSCA F156A chassis continues to be available to customers for 27,500

Owen Racing Organisation have an offer from OSCA to purchase the F156A we used last season for 22,500. Naturally, we'd like to purchase that chassis, although we'd like to purchase a second. We would offer a combined price of 50,000 for the pair.

We are in the market for a pair of strong engines. Offers will be accepted, but I'm not going to entertain any rubbish proposals.

We intend to put together a two-car operation for the bulk of the season, and hence will offer deals to the following drivers in order of preference.

Simone Bizzarri: We had an overreaction. 1955 was a dark place, and we wanted to show that the team was strong again by fielding a big lineup with respected individuals piloting them. But with the push to manufacture so many cars in a short window, there was perhaps a deficiency in the quality of their designs and implementation.

GP: So is the plan to spend more time designing and less building?

SB: Indeed this is the case. We have been spending much of last year designing another new car, with a philosophy closer to the 555. The 560 was trying new ideas, ones which did not bear success. The plan is to have a smaller squad, with a bigger objective. Three cars appears to be the optimum.

GP: That means drivers in the stable currently would not be returning for next season. Who can we expect to see riding the prancing horses next year, and who is being put out to pasture?

SB: Given our customer programs are coming to a close, this means that Cesare [Perdisa] and Gerino [Gerini] are no longer with us. For Dorino [Serafini], his injury was a terrible way to end the season, we continue to support him, but from the conversations we have had, it appears he may want to retire. As for Mr Fangio, we were happy to honour our agreement to facilitate his return to Formula 1, but we have decided to go our separate ways, and he will race for Maserati in sportscars.

While Ferrari is very much an international team, we still want Italians as part of our lineup. To that end, the intention is to continue our relationship with Umberto [Maglioli] and Giulio [Cabianca], the latter a young driver I rate very much.

GP: Of course, no matter how strong the stallion in your own stable, Gordini have bred a fine specimen with their 1956 car. Even if it is a year old, how can you expect to beat it?

SB: A tough position for sure. The idea is to build a strong but reliable workhorse. One that is capable of keeping pace, but does not possess the same fragility of the French car.

GP: So in your opinion, where does Ferrari classify in the championship in the 1957 season?

SB: Every championship has its own characteristic. With the drivers, it can go to many drivers, because generally you need only the points of three wins for this. If you are reliable and take a podium most races, while others win once in a while, you can win this championship. For the teams, this is harder, the one with the faster car will often win, as only one car out of however many - three, four, five - can take the 9 points.

It's hard to say. If the other teams get larger, as they might given they have their designs working well, it could be more difficult. If Gordini, OSCA and ourselves have three apiece, we can contend for all the championships. But if they expand, if they have four or five, then the minimum expectation is third. Anything less is completely unsatisfactory.
