2019 AR 3.5: Season over, see you next year with TCBY!

Post by Nuppiz »

Time to get this thing started.

Here's the full list of rules:

  • The series is run as the direct feeder series of ARWS (formerly F1RWRS) which means that the top 5 drivers of the series will contribute towards their ARWS team's budget (if they sign for one) as outlined in the ARWS rules.
  • A team can be run by any registered user of the GPRejects.com forum, and each team can consist of one or two cars. Apart from short-term agreements where a user controls someone else's team for the duration of his/her abscence from the forum, each user can only control one team at any given time.
  • Single engine model (3.5L V8) to make driver talent more important.
  • The weekend consists of two semifinal heats with 21 cars each (42 entries per race weekend in total), with the top 14 of each heat continuing into the feature final (28 total). Cars with uneven numbers are in Heat 1, and cars with even numbers are in Heat 2. If less than 14 cars finish in a heat race, then more cars from the other heat are accepted into the final. If the combined total is still less than 28, then the cars that completed the farthest distance without actually finishing qualify as well.
  • Points system: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for the seminfinal heats, with one extra point each for the pole position and fastest lap. 20-14-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for the feature final, with two extra points each for pole position and fastest lap.
  • Driver changes limited to five per team per season, with one additional change only given in case of injuries and exclusions. So be careful to not overrun your limit with voluntary driver changes. One-car teams have more freedom in this to encourage users to run them and thus hopefully open more team spots. Exceeding the limit will lead to a team penalty ranging from reduced performance (through ballast) to exclusions, with each case reviewed separatedly.
  • Full-time AR 3.5 drivers are not permitted to run in another series, apart from very temporary replacements. In other words, double-dutying is banned. This is to prevent possible retconning due to incidents taking place in other series.
  • Driver age limit of 16 to 30 years, i.e. drivers born earlier than 1989 and later than 2003 cannot take part in the 2019 season. For this purpose the DOB of every driver must be entered during the entry process, or alternatively a link to their wiki page which lists the date.
  • Drivers are ineligible for AutoReject 3.5 if they've entered more than 24 or started more than 16 F1RWRS/ARWS races, or started more than 20 F1 races. Any combination of these three that exceeds 24 also makes a driver ineligible.
  • A champion of the series may not return for another season. This also concerns champions from the previous two incarnations of the series (RoLFS and IFRC). This is to prevent one driver dominating too much.
  • To help reduce the length of the waiting list, team activity checks will be conducted once every three weekends with a warning given to all inactive team owners, and if the team owner has shown no interest towards the series within five weekends from the start of the season the team will be immediatedly booted out unless the team owner has specified a very good reason for his/her absence elsewhere on the forum or on IRC.

The entry process will be in two parts. First, I'm taking in entries for the Middle Eastern Cup and preliminary entries for the regular season. By default every 2018 team will continue, but after the deadline of 5th March 18:00 UTC any inactive teams are permanently removed from the entry list and the affected users can only rejoin through the waiting list. Then a second round of entry confirmations will run until 12th March 20:00 UTC to determine wheter or not the people drafted in from the waiting list are still active.

Entry list for the 2019 AutoReject 3.5 season

Any teams that didn't participate in the final race of the 2018 season have been removed. All drivers are currently listed as TBA, as while some of you may have made contracts with drivers earlier, your plans may have changed. Race numbers will be confirmed after both deadlines when I know how many cars are still hanging about.

Teams coloured in red are unconfirmed.

Voeckler GPE will return as Renault Academy Voeckler.

Our MEC driver will be Mineiro, and our regular season pairing will be Mineiro/Fotis Iordanou.

Marjolein Postma is cleared to race for (whatever replaces) Nebula, and Kyosti Pykalisto will drive for Nismo Academy CSR (or whatever variant of name Chris Short use).

Autosport wrote:Revealed: Voeckler spend more on branding than racing

With the news that the AR 3.5 arm of the youth team will be run as Renault Academy Voeckler for the upcoming season, it has been revealed that Voeckler spends more in branding than anything to do with actual racing. The new branding means that the team has changed it's identity every year since the revival of Rejects of LFS in 2014.

A source close to the team commented on how "thousands" of pounds worth of equipment had been thrown out in the move. "Even the paper plates in the canteen are different" the source disclosed, adding that "handing out Voeckler branded toothbrushes to employees won't help us go faster"

No one at Voeckler were willing to comment.

Estrella Galicia 0,0 Nebula Grand Prix
5. Jorge Álvarez Torrente
6. Marjolein Postma

Liveries are available here.

Also got a few helmets done, I'll ping them all over when everyone's confirmed, and I'm sure I'll help out with more liveries and stuff too (think I've got an updated Prenois on my computer somewhere). Torrente will take MEC duties for the team.

Don't forget that you've already signed Velazquez for 2019. I'll work on a livery for you.

As for the Underhill liveries, one of them should look like this, and the other one should look like this. As for the main sponsors, we will just use whatever Tarantino used in 2017.

A preliminary calendar has been added to the wiki page. There are likely to be changes, depending on what teams are entered for the season (the unwritten "home race" rule).

Blokkmonsta would be interested in Armando for car #4.

One and only reminder that the first phase of entries will close on Sunday evening. After that, all unconfirmed teams will be wiped off the entry list and new teams will be drafted in from the waiting list.

There'll be no favours, extra time or additional reminders for anyone. If your team's name is still in red on 6 pm UTC this Sunday, it'll be removed from the series and you can only rejoin through the waiting list.

Did you want to split the races for the Middle Eastern Cup? Have Vosu do the first 2 races and Armando do the latter two?

I'd like to confirm that Falik Arrows will still be in AR 3.5 despite the poor health of Prince Falik.

Can I provisionally have

Hwok Kwol-Cho
Yuka Katayama

And put feelers out for some other drivers?

Didn't we agree on an AR3.5 contract for Odegard some months ago?
