Privateer entries are now closed. LEC, Automobiles Martini, and Parnelli have not been ratified as of yet. A final decision on entries will come after I understand the bigger picture.

Is it possible for privateers to hang onto their old chassis, because if not, that pretty much limits me to just a March 741 and a Renzo!

Also, are supplier costs dependent on how many GPs each team enters?

Anybody gets to hang onto their old chassis, it's just engines that need to be renewed.

Nope, supplier costs are fixed.

Chassis upgrade: Gamma
Chassis Generation: 1976 spec (I guess that makes it the 308D/77 or something)
Engine: Ford Cosworth DFV ('76 spec)
Suppliers:
1. NGK
2. FINA
3. Castrol

Tyres:
1. Pirelli
2. Dunlop (again, as I said, we're near broke)

I've also noticed that we have no one signed for the #24 car for the Austrian, US and Japanese GPs. Hesketh would be interested in using F3 champion Robert Kagan to fill that seat for those rounds; failing that, we'll just extend Henton's contract again.

There seems to be some confusion over the wording here, so I'll clarify. Teams MUST choose ONE tyre supplier - they may bid for up to two different tyre suppliers.

Teams MAY choose ONE other supplier - EITHER from Petroleum, Lubricant, or Parts. You may bid for up to three suppliers, across all three categories.

Everyone has until 23:57 GMT Sunday 5th March to finalise their chassis, engine and supplier choices. You may edit your previous bids, but please notify me if you choose to.

As for Privateers, this is how things currently stand - 1977 Entry Lists.

The Entry Limits can be found on the rules post - you are free to enter privateers until the limit is reached.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport wrote:Ferrari accuses FOCA teams of unethical financial collusion

In a staggering development, Ferrari team manager Luca di Montezemolo has accused FOCA teams of colluding with each other to implement unethical financial plans to artificially disrupt the sport.

The controversial claims come after Theodore Racing, created by Hong Kong based businessman Teddy Yip, merged into the Ensign team, coinciding with an unexpected boost in finance to the British team.

"This is setting a dangerous precedent," said di Montezemolo. "They are taking any grubby foreign money they can get their hands on, regardless of where it comes from, or the implications of doing so."

"This move is an attack on Formula 1. We have to act accordingly. We are preparing an appeal with FISA to have Ensign disqualified from the championship if they attempt to enter any races under this proposed arrangement."

"Without the integrity of the championship, Formula 1 is nothing. Ferrari cannot risk damaging its reputation from competing in a championship that encourages such shady practises."

OOC: Seriously, if this transfer is cleared, I will have to follow suit to stay competitive. This means setting up teams like Trivellato Racing, and heck, maybe even Osella, just to take their budget money and run. Straight credit transfers are banned in every other Alt-F1. They should be here too.

The Telegraph wrote:Nunn to take legal action against FISA

Ensign team owner Morris Nunn has today made is known that they will take legal action against FISA, the governing body of the Formula One World Championship. After FISA ruled a ownership deal between Nunn and Hong Kong business magnate Teddy Yip illegal, Nunn, along with FOCA legal representative Max Mosely, were quick to respond to the move.

"This is a clear restriction of trade by FISA, and we will not stand for this." exclaimed Nunn. "Theodore Yip is someone who's done much for motorsport, and he wanted to join F1 on his terms, and his terms was to work with us. We were more than happy to work with him and as we made him co-owner of the team at his request, after our initial request to offer him our old cars and technical support. For FISA to turn around and say that this deal cannot go ahead is disappointing, but not a surprise considering their previous track record. This is a perfectly legitimate business transaction, and Max and myself are willing to defend that fact in a court of law to prove it so."

Nunn went further, suggesting that FISA was acting at the behest of the manufacturers in making the move at the expense of himself, a vocal FOCA supporter. Nunn also suggested that if the situation wasn't rectified immediately, he would be forced to take further action.

"At the end of the day, this all came about because FISA don't want to deal with us on equal terms." stated Nunn. "We work just has had as any other team out there to be successful and help grow the sport, and yet we believe some things are more equal than others with FISA. This was a non-issue until another team who shall remain nameless that wasn't part of FOCA brought it up, and we received pre-approval for FISA up until this point. We are all about doing the best for ourselves and the sport, especially for someone like Teddy who has done a lot to bring motorsport to where it is today, and we feel that if FISA continue on this train of thought, we will have to consider our options."

While this is only the beginning of what will be a major storyline, it's expected that FISA will be swift to respond to the claims.

The Telegraph also wrote:Yip expressed his own confusion regarding the situation. "I cannot understand why this has occurred. Mo and I have worked closely in a similar capacity before only three years ago when I funded Vern Schuppan's drive with the Ensign team. This is no different. I honestly don't see why we are being treated with such hostility. We've been blocked from running the chassis of our closest F1 partners here in Europe and now apparently FISA can pick and choose who sponsors who. I wish to make it known that Mo and Max have my full support in this case and I hope for a satisfactory conclusion. If not, I may be forced to build my own car!"

Teddy Mayer wrote:I can see where Mo and Teddy are coming from, these guys have worked similarly in the past and it never raised an eyebrow. Why is it now that they're getting heat for this, since they've been doing it for years? The answer is pretty simple at the heart of it - F1 is the absolute top when it comes to motorsports, and we've got some very savvy business guys in addition to real racers. If FISA let Mo and Teddy get away with this sort of thing, it opens the door for a whole bunch of shenanigans. Gotta say, it's nice to see FISA take a proactive approach to managing the sport for once.

I'm a bit concerned about Fittipaldi though, it seems they simply have an opinion on every controversial thing happening, just for the sake of having an opinion. They might make too much enemies by this, and unlike the big teams like us, they might lose a lot of sponsors if they get involved in this bickering too much.

Both of these entries will be rejected, as I am once again closing the entry list to new privateers.

Supplier RNG

Supplier RNG

The results of the supplier RNG can be found here.

Thistle Racing must choose a tyre manufacturer and announce a schedule for their drivers.

Budgets have been updated, including suppliers and travel fees for Privateer teams. Currently, B&S Fabrications, Scuderia Everest and Mitsuoka are in debt and therefore must revise their plans.

Why hasn't the budget for North Star and Avon been updated yet? ;)

Mitsuoka will withdraw from the Soviet GP.
