1. Felipe Massa - A good way to say farewell to his compatriots.

2. Fernando Alonso - I thought McLaren were going to be sitting ducks on the straights. Seriously good job.

1. Lewis Hamilton: Feels wrong to nominate him, as he was the cause of his own problems, but I guess I have to, since no one else did anything particularly surprising. It's not that rare to finish 4th from last place (Vettel also fought back in Mexico), but to finish just a few seconds behind the winner and actually lead at one point is.
2. Felipe Massa: A good farewell race (not really his last but you know...) is quite a rare occurrence.

Honorable mention: Fernando Alonso

1. Massa and Alonso - the former had to work hard to keep his place, but at least it was a battling drive that allowed him to retire in a much more dignified manner than last year. As for Alonso, he wrung about as much as he could out of that car and withstood quite a bit of pressure from Perez at the end - you get the sense that Alonso and Massa probably did enjoy that battle, especially for the latter.
2. Hamilton - As Meatwad says, whilst it feels a little odd, Hamilton was thumping in the lap times (even after his pit stop, Vettel was struggling to catch him despite the tyre advantage he had) and the fact that he was putting the podium finishers under quite a bit of pressure in the closing laps was surprising.

1. Ferrari - so ironic that they finally did everything right once the championship was over......

2. The Massa/Alonso fight; great stuff for the "best of division 2", on paper you wouldn't have expected either of them to have beaten the Force India too.

1. Felipe Massa: a proper finish this time and finished ahead of Alonso and Perez.

2. Max Verstappen: 1:11.044

1. Felipe Massa - a good job on that 7th place, showing some good skill after a lot of criticism, whilst his teammate floundered.
2. Lewis Hamilton - a great recovery drive, regardless of his car or upgrades or whatever. Finishing a few seconds behind his teammate and the lead after starting from the pitlane is obviously worthy of IIDOTR.

2. Alonso: Good qualifying and did well to only drop two places with that Honda boat anchor on the straights.

The home hero, second-time retiree Felipe Massa takes the grand IIDOTR award at his "final" home race! A decent haul of points and a good showing of racecraft with an old rival / teammate was a great way to "bow out of the sport". Fernando Alonso, the aforementioned old rival / teammate comes second, after getting home a good result in his McLaren-Honda, and for showing a good deal of racecraft as well. Lewis Hamilton takes a solid third for his recovery drive, though the votes may have been less for him under the circumstances of qualifying.
