F1 Liveries 2010

Post by homerbhoy »

I know there has been a best livery post before but what would be the best design and colours for next season.

I want Lotus to have this livery

i'd love to see lotus in a JPS-like livery, but then with 'guinness' on it, but with totally no irish involvement, this off course sadly won't happen.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

USF1 could do something quite like it. :(

Okay, if I could paint all of the F1 cars, this is how I'd do it:

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes - red and white, not unlike the old Malboro designs (but with mobile phones in the place of cancer sticks). Red on the sidepods, front and rear wings and the top of the engine cowling. Everything else would be white.
Orange Mercedes Grand Prix - silver and white, in tribute to the old pre-war Mercedes cars, and a little bit of black trim around the base of the car. The Orange name in orange on the sidepods, while the engine cowling would be asymmetrical and the design reversed on the second car.
Red Bull Racing - more of the same; silver and purple. However, I'd also add a bit of bright pink into the mix for the McGrath Foundation (before you laugh, Michael Patrizi's Team McGrath car looked great ... a shame he spent most of the time in the barriers).
Scuderia Ferrari Santander - go back to the original formula for rosso corsa. Get rid of cigarette sponsorship, and replace it with Santander. Ferrari is easy because the liver never changes much.
Williams Coke Zero - black, red and white. Styled like the Coke Zero ads: very arty, very detailed. Minor sponsors would all be in white so as not to disrupt the proceedings.
Gulf Oil Prodrive - everything in front of the driver would be red with yellow-gold for Gulf Western Oil (see Jonathan Webb's Fujistu V8 for inspiration). A whte line (that follows the natural line of the car) divides it from the Gulf Oil powder blue sidepods and orange engine cowling.
Force India - again, more of the same. But like Mercedes, an asymmetric livery: white is the base colour, while one side is green and the other is orange. A little bit of blue around the driver to complete the effect of the Indian flag.
Scuderia Toro Rosso - totally different: sandy brown and black in keeping with the colours of Italian fashion label and brand-new sponsor Gucci. The image of the charging bull dominates the sides of the nosecone.
AirAsia Lotus F1 Team - yellow and green for Lotus colours; yellow and white for Malaysian national racing colours. A stylised version of the national flag on the rear wings. AirAsia and all major sponsors are simply done in black.
Gazprom Campos Meta1 - silver and blue, each one segueing into the other so that the car is silver at the front wing and dark blue on the rear wing. In the same way, Embratel logos appear on the front of the car, and Gazprom on the back.
Best Buy USF1 - stars and stripes motif limited to a single white star with red streak and a blue outline appearing on the top of the air intakes. The car is mostly black with yellow Best Buy logos.
Virgin Racing - mostly red, with the secondary colours changing based on which arm of the Virgin Group is sponsoring the team; blue for Virgin Blue, green for the Virgin Green Fund, blacks and blues for Virgin Galactic, etc.
Sauber Petronas F1 - black on black. Sponsors appear in white and gold.

The liveries of the old teams won't change much (unless Williams finds a new sponsor), but for the news...:
-Campos Meta: probably red with some black.
-Lotus: black with some gold but not like the JPS cars.
-Virgin: white and red.
-USF1: blue and red.
-Sauber: maybe white and blue.

I agree with most of your liveries Captain except for this:

Yes. I predict the next scandal will involve the Zorin GP cars exploding after USF1 hires Roger Moore to crook Roger Moore's Eyebrows of Death at the cars, making them blow up.
