The Virtual Universe of Formula NASCAR

Post by Gonzalez »

Having failed on running championships in the 18 Metre Forum I have decided to move on to creating my very own universe of racing. I just thought why not as i'm very obsessive with customizing and alternating championships.

The purpose of this alternative championship will be to show how would the grid(s) of Nascar Cup Series shape up if it mainly involves drivers from the Open Wheel Era (F1, Indycar etc). Depending on the popularity of this thread, I may even move to alternating on how would even the race calender shapes up.

This championship will intend to follow the same period as Nascar Cup, from 1949-onwards.

Driver DEC and Career Profile

Anyone who picks any of the drivers listed above can alter their careers than the ones I stated above. When you pick your driver you must do so by using this Career profile sign up form below:

Name of Driver:
DOB:

Notes? :

*You must notify me if you wish to make your driver a champion and i'll decide whether to approve it for you.

Histories and Info

You can also feel free of jotting down any pieces of histories and info that you can make up such as how would race results be determined etc. However DEC rules will still apply (Ask Permission from a DEC owner if you would like to use or mention their owned driver)

Above is obviously real-life data. I would love to see at least the latter two to have extended racing careers, even in a a virtual wo r (and with better results).

Danica Patrick has been less of my mind for some reason. But there is no doubt he's eligible following her experience in the Cup series. Could be worth extending her career to around the time she has started racing in Indycar. At this time, with sufficient experience in RL at the time, she could get a decent start in her career. Her racing career will be coming to an end in RL so her career alternatively could last until 2018 or 2019.

2005- ?

Lella Lombardi would be an interesting one. She is the best Female driver in F1 so far having finished in a sports paying position in 1975 scoring only half a point, the only for a female driver to do so. Her career in Formula NASCAR may not last long though, i'd say it will span from the mid 70s through to the late 70s.

1974 -1979?

As for Janet Guthrie, I actually did not know until now that she at least has Open Wheel Experience, in Indycars and even qualifying in the Indy 500 a few times. I can predict her career would be almost exactly the same as her Nascar Cup Career. Possibly more depending on her popularity.

1976 - 1980?

I almost forgot. I can assume that these are the 3 drivers you will be taking control of. What I stated above about them is what I was predicting from my point of view. You can feel free to make up any of their careers you like.

I did a bit of Google/Wikipedia research for these drivers. I actually was aware of Janet Guthrie's Indy 500 exploits, for example, but had not been aware of her NASCAR entries before.

Yes, I will take these 3 drivers on.
