aaaand you've guaranteed the next five German Grands Prix to be ordinary, forgettable dry races.

This should easily go to Daniil Kvyat! An unexpected podium, if there ever was one!

Honorable mentions to Stroll (almost on the podium too) and Vettel (great recovery drive).

1. Daniil Kvyat - Incredible, the redemption story is here! So happy for the guy, he went through hell, and made it stick. Awesome.

2. Lance Stroll - Great strategy call, and he was on it, almost got a podium too.

The race was awesome. There's nothing more to say. Incredible.

The race of course was a crazy and entertaining but I want to vote for something I had set my mind on before the race: the classy outfits of Mercedes. Absolutely loved them and I would be glad if it became a tradition!

1st: Kvyat

2nd: Stroll

Great drive from both of them, really kept it together well today.

3rd: Vettel I expected him to go round the whole race feeling sorry for himself, but he proved me wrong.

Like why even bother having a vote. Anyone should have Kyvat first and Stroll second and anyone who doesn't should punch themselves in the nuts until they've grown some sense.

You could say that, to some extent, the same point applies to Kvyat as well given that Toro Rosso also made the same gamble. Mind you, it is one thing to make that strategy decision and another to then execute it and, to be fair to Stroll, he drove pretty cleanly in circumstances where he could have easily made a mistake, as indeed did Kvyat.

Danil Kvyat. Stroll did well, but nobody on this planet expected Kvyat on that podium at the end of this race. Possibly the best drive of the year so far.

Also lets give a shout out to Precipitation.

I am going to put Hülkenberg as my no. 1, because he was driving a fantastic race and would have surely gotten a podium had he not spun off.

Kvjat gets no. 2, almost by default, but I really want to give a honorable mention to Vettel, Stroll, and even Sainz as well.

1- Daniil Kvyat. May have driven himself into a Red Bull drive from Belgium. Plus Toro Rosso's first Podium since Italy 2008

2- Lance Stroll. I hate Bottas for that Safety Car because I would have loved Lance to get onto the podium as well.

HM- Williams- They get a point!!!!! (feel a bit bad for Russell though as it looks like he will be the only driver not to score a point this year)

HM- Albon. Unlucky with the timings of the safety cars otherwise he might have got the third place instead

HM- Vettel. From 20th to 2nd is quite good tbh.

1) Toro Rosso. Kvyat made the most of the situation to take Toro Rosso's second ever F1 podium, but Albon's performance in the race, while not as noted, was quite strong as well. An impressive weekend from the Italian team.

2) Racing Point Strategists. Putting Stroll on the Softs was the gamble of the race, and if he had a bit more time he could of been on the podium today.

Honourable Mentions:
Sebastian Vettel (Expert Drive from 20th to 2nd)
Carlos Sainz Jr. (Giving trouble to Mercedes for the second half of the race)
Williams (Kept their heads down and may just pip a point in this crazy GP while everyone else lost their heads)
The Race Itself (A real madhouse not seen since Canada 2011)

1. Daniil Kvyat - Made up for the lad, doubt there'll be a podium finish that popular for a long time
2. Robert Kubica - Beat George Russell for once, and it counted!

Very honourable mentions to Lance Stroll and Alexander Albon.

The obvious choice here is Daniil Kvyat, with an unexpected podium that stood in defiance to the chaos around him. But Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel both had strong performances as well.

Sorry Kvyat, it's gonna be Kubica for me. The slowest car on the grid, driven by a driver who's F1 career was supposed to be over, and who has gotten a mixture of stick and pity because he's been outperformed by Russel, has scored a point.

That more than Kvyat's podium is IIDOTR material.

Been waiting for the result of the Alfa Romeo hearing for this....

Kubica - scores a point. Nieprawdopodobny!

Robert Kubica: I don't care how he got it, for this man to score a point in that Williams when he's probably lucky to be in an F1 car is true IIDOTR material

Danill Kvyat: His road to redemption is complete

Lance Stroll: Seems to have a knack of turning up in the races of utter chaos

HM to Sebastian Vettel: Purely because he went from 20th to 2nd and nothing else. I actually thought he was quite lacklustre until the permanent switch to dries.

Kvyat was definitely the feel-good result of the race. Williams getting a point has to be up there too.

I'm happy for Kvyat, but feel he got bumped up because he was serviced for slicks one lap earlier than Albon. Albon was in the top 10 by lap 10 and ran solidly in the top 5 for more than 15 laps until that unfortunate dive down the order on lap 46. His decisive overtake on Gasly in the hairpin a few moments later makes me doubt that, If Red Bull decide to swap drivers, I'm not convinced it will be Kvyat getting the call. I wouldn't mind though, and for their excellent result today, I nominate them both.

Kvyat but Stroll and Kubica deserve it as well.

I'm voting for Toro Rosso as a whole - their first podium in 11 years is quite something, but Albon definitely deserves a mention as he was the only driver to get a 10 on Autosport!!

I agree, I was disappointed by the lack of mentions and TV time Albon got during the first 2/3rd's of the race - it seemed like he was doing a faultless race and quietly climbing near the podium places. Kvyat just got lucky with strategy in the end but I really think Albon was the better driver on Sunday.

With a dominant 60% of total votes, Daniil Kvyat takes the IIDOTR award with a brilliant drive to 3rd place. This was only the second podium ever for Toro Rosso, after a certain German hotshot took the win in Italy 2008 in wet conditions as well. Performances like this are putting more pressure on the underperforming Pierre Gasly in the much faster "major" team.
