Grand Prix Rejects

1. George Russell. 8 thousandths away from getting a Williams into Q3, and looked awesome in that first stint. I totally lost interest in the race after the pitstop failure.

2. Lance Stroll. Very clearly had the beating of Vettel this weekend.

NOR - He's absolutely shaming Ricciardo at this point

George Russell for his drive and near miss with Q3.

Honourable mention: Lando Norris

Ferrari ended up getting quite a nice points haul after what first looked like it would be a repeat of Paul Ricard.

Honorable mention to George Russell, an amazing weekend ruined by another car failure... Also Kimi Räikkönen for a great race performance after a very weak qualifying.

(1) Russell - faultless drive, faulty car

(2) Ferrari - where did that come from?

1) George Russell: Pity the car had to fail on him, because he was in for a well-deserved result.

2) Ferrari: Didn't expect them to get both cars into the points after practice.

Honourable Mention - Lando Norris: The gap between him and Ricciardo returned this weekend with a vengeance.

1st George Russell. He did nothing wrong. Too good for that car.

2nd Lando Norris. And everyone was saying that Danny ric would absolutely thrash him. I think not.

1. George Russell. He was heading for a top 8 result, on merit, in a Williams.
2. Lance Stroll. He had the measure of Vettel all weekend, drove a solid race and scored some very good points.

1: George Russell: I know the short lap helped but to qualify 11th and run 8th on merit in the Williams is a clear winner here. Is he finally shaking off the Mr Saturday tag?

2: Carlos Sainz: a good run considering he missed Q3

HM’s
Lance Stroll: Dominated Vettel and finally got a good reward

Charles Leclerc: Looked done after the first lap but that was a good fight back

Ferrari's race pace after their disaster last week. Even hope they might have had a nibble at Bottas/Perez if they'd qualified well in Sainz's case, and not been delayed in Leclerc's case.

1 - Russell. Best first third of a race in his entire career. Then that happened.

2 - Ferrari, especially Sainz: A 6-7 is not what I expected after the first full lap. Somehow Ferrari managed to put two good strategies together!

1. Ferrari - Great turnaround at a track that didn't really suit them.

2. Lance Stroll - Solid drive and beat Vettel this time.

Honorable mention to Yuki Tsunoda and Lando Norris.

Lance Stroll - Great weekend across the board for him.

Carlos Sainz - Great race from him. Didn't hit people like his teammate.

1.- Sainz - Nobody saw that coming
2.- Russell - Too good for that Williams

1) George Russell. Made the most of Williams' pace around Austria, if only the car could last the distance...

2) Nikita Mazepin. Sparred with his supposedly faster teammate, was genuinely surprised by not only his pace but his racecraft as well.

Honourable Mentions:
Kimi Raikkonen (Fought well, could have gotten a 10th if things broke a bit better)
Ferrari (Respectable double-points finish, keeping Mclaren honest in the Constructors' Standings)
