Welcome to the 2020 FIA F3 Americas season! After some delay, this will be a quicksim series in order to get us up to 2021.

The Simulator

A custom version of Aislabie's excellent race sim spreadsheet. Very in vogue...

The Cars

The standard Lola T20/30 F3 chassis powered by the Hyundai V4T engine.

The Drivers and Teams

In order to finish 2020 and move swiftly on to 2021, I have completed the line-ups of the teams that were racing on the series when it entered hiatus. The line-ups can be viewed on the wiki page here https://formularejects.com/wiki/2020_FIA_Formula_3_Americas_Championship_season

Drivers who have already been confirmed on the wiki page must be run this season, unless there is a good reason not to (driver has found employment elsewhere)

Events

In a change from last season, each weekend will feature a single 100km with a single qualifying session. The shortened race calendar can be found here: https://formularejects.com/wiki/2020_FIA_Formula_3_Americas_Championship_season

...so what do I do then?
If you are a current team owner, then you need to think about whether or not you would like to continue in 2021. This will be sorted once 2020 has been quicksimmed.

A new mechanics system will be introduced across all three F3 series in 2021 (Asian and Americas F3) and beyond (Euro F3).

I will be quicksimming the 2020 races shortly.

4 - 8 pts
5 - 6 pts
6 - 5 pts

Pole Position - 2 pts

Drive of the Race: Kyle Kirkwood - Kirkwood seals the win with a decisive round-the-outside move at the long Turn 1 to steal past Calvin Ming and Aurora Summers
Reject of the Race:] Mike Jones - spins off in sympathy of Facundo Garese.

Drive of the Race:Arjun Patel - manages to take home 3 points after starting 15th on the grid.
Reject of the Race: John Paul Southern, Jr - spins off whilst being lapped by Rinus Veekay - on lap 8./quote]

Reject of the Race: Charlie Cook - Crashing on the formation lap is not the one.
Dishonourable Mention: Konrad Czaczyk - Started from pole and lead the opening handful of laps. Pushed too hard for FLAP and damaged the gearbox

Drive of the Race: Thiago Mazzacane - Wins a drag race across the line after a close-fought battle
Reject of the Race: Devliin De Franccesco - Thought he was being told to pit, realised his mistake and spun whilst trying to cross the white line. Stalled the car for good measure.

Drive of the Race: Arjun Patel - Good pace and some brave passes to finish P6 on merit
Reject of the Race: Mike Jones - triggered turn 1 pileup which took out 3 cars on the spot, with Ming, Sorel, and Castaneda forced to retire with damage as a result
Mike Jones will get a 1 race exclusion for his antics at the California Trophy
