Charlie Brooker isn't an insult to intelligent people?

Charlie does not insult, he's a literate-necromonger, every word has been sharpened into a dagger-like object to hit at the heart of his targets, and then turn it into pulp, he is probably not loved by all, but those who do, agree with every word he slays with.

Brooker is just snide & can only hold forth when there is no-one to challenge his opinions. Put him in a programme with other people & he is completely lost. Viz his recent non appearance on Buzzcocks.
Most of his comments are just obvious & juvenile.

Would I sound twisted and like a stalker if I said that I thought Stephanie was a lovely name and that if I were ever fortunate enough to have a daughter, that is the name I would like her to have?

Absolutely.

My brother, who's an engineer, gave me a model car Total oil gave him for free.

It's a 2007 Lemans Peugeot as driven by Pedro Lamy, Stephane Sarrazin and Sebastian Bourdais. Epic.

I got other stuff too, I'm a spoilt brat, but that was the only thing of real interest for here.

Speaking of presents to do with rejects, I was lucky enough to get a 2002 Minardi shirt for Christmas :D .

I now have a F1 present I can actually keep: a book on the history of F1, in the middle of a pile of presents I failed to notice until this morning.

You know, when I saw that comment, an idea instantly came to my head, but it has taken several minutes of careful deliberation and weighing up the potential positives and negatives and various outcomes of posting that idea. I decided to follow through, so here goes.

Don't mention the war.

I 'spose you haven't been brought up being overwhelmed by British cultural references from 1970s sitcoms about hotels.

If you ever do get the chance to watch Fawlty Towers (the show in question), it is well worth a watch. Bit dated, but still very funny.

If we only did that, then we'd all be pretty ignorant.

"Hahahaha... penis," is about the sum of Family Guy's humour. The Simpsons has sadly gone the same way.

No Python late 60s/v. early 70s; Towers 1976. Just 12 episodes but Cleese' finest hour.

Yes it is. It occurs to me that you may have seen it under another name. It has been sold all round the World & the put upon Spanish waiter (sorry) changes nationality to fit in with local national views.

Yep you've got there. The car episode is not one of my favourites. It was all a bit "Terry & June" that one (cliched 60's sitcom). Hope you also viewed the "don't mention the war" clip on Youtube :)
