Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada 2022
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada 2022
1. Zhou Guanyu. Finally some good luck for the lad. Q3 on merit, an excellent performance today and a points finish.
2. Lance Stroll. Q1 exit to the points, a decent effort.

Alfa Romeo - Double points finish is a good day's work for them imo, especially as they didn't seem especially quick at any point over the weekend.

Zhou Guanyu -- Looked fantastic all weekend long, and the further into the weekend he got, the better he looked.
Lance Stroll -- Proof that, eventually, the blind squirrel will find the acorn.

I'd also like to throw some recognition to Alex Albon who put in an excellent (though ultimately futile) defensive effort in the face of a DRS-wielding Bottas for several laps

Zhou Guanyu - Well deserved points finish, and was pretty much on Bottas' pace all race. Best ever qualifying and best ever race result makes this an easy nomination.

1- Alfa Romeo and especially Zhou Guanyu- double points finish and Zhou did a great job and did some clean passes all race
2- Canadian Drivers- Lance Stroll got points and Latifi didn't crash once and didn't come last!!!
HM- HRH Lord Lewis Hamilton- Took the worst car he has ever had in Canada ( so not the 2009 Mclaren then) to third place. Okay he did alright
HM Mick Schumacher- Did not crash out Qualified 6th and the car failed on him rather than him failing the team

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada 2022
Alfa Romeo: A double points finish having not quite looked comfortable with the circuit. Has Zhou made a breakthrough with his best weekend of the season? Bottas made amazing tyre life and may have snatched 7th with an extra lap.
Lance Stroll: Another great tyre saving performance from Stroll and not for the first time. It looked like he’d been screwed by the SC timing but he battled through to claim a point.
Mick Schumacher: Great qualifying, held his own in the race before suffering heartbreak. More of that performance level please.
HM to Alonso’s qualifying performance, Albon for again dragging the Williams to places it doesn’t deserve and Hamilton for recovering from a bad Friday with easily his best showing of the season

Nothing exactly improbable for me this weekend other than Fernando's front row start, so I'll nominate that

1. Fernando Alonso: The most impressive qualifying result in a while, I definitely didn't expect that even after his good pace in the practice sessions. Shame the race didn't go better, but he was also quite competitive there until the tires wore out.
2. Lance Stroll: A point in his home race after a Q1 elimination. Managed to keep faster cars behind for ages, also helping his team mate in process.

Alfa Romeo: Was not expecting good things from this weekend, but the double points score was well-earned.

Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari scoring almost the same points (25, 27 and 29)
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada 2022
1. Lance Stroll - Crappier car than the ARs plus was a great DRS train and despite unfortunate timings with the SC, managed to get a point. If he pitted a lap later, probably would have got 8th or 9th. Maybe 9th. Dude can work long tire stints.
2. Alfa Romeo - Made two good strategies work but they do have the benefit of a better car than AM. Also Zhou couldn't get by Lance but man, it was finally great to see luck go towards the Chinese driver. Been mostly really solid this season.

1. Guanyu Zhou - Good effort in beating Bottas in qualifying, then went on to score his best result.
2. Lance Stroll - qualifying was bad but he then had a good race even if he was emulating Jarno Trulli in the second half.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Canada 2022
F1 never actually raced at Canada that year (can’t remember why) so we’ll never know. That said given it would have been held pre-Germany (when McLaren sorted the MP4-24 out) it probably would have been the worst car he’d have ever raced here.rachel1990 wrote: ↑19 Jun 2022, 20:08 HM- HRH Lord Lewis Hamilton- Took the worst car he has ever had in Canada ( so not the 2009 Mclaren then) to third place. While ROTR has been decided, you still have the power to vote for Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race in Canada. Slim pickings though - two candidates stuck out as the absolute main contenders in the nominations, and so it is one of those two whom you must vote for today! You have 48 hours
