Toleman Tyre Bids (after an injection of funds from a outside investment)
1. Michelin (customer)
2. Pirelli ("customer")

We also wish to nominate Dr Jonathan Palmer as GPDA representative for 1982, as he is well-educated and comes highly recommended from the Rover Group

Spartec lends both of its votes to Jonathan Palmer in line with Rover's intentions. Rover also strongly encourages all of its customer teams to do the same, as the Rover teams are strongest if we stick together.

Rikky Leiviska also lends his support to Dr Palmer, as he was unimpressed by Mansell's conduct on the track last year or Piquet's conduct off it.

Tyre and engine allocations can be found on the wiki: https://formularejects.com/wiki/1982_Al ... nd_drivers.

For your specific tyre, please consult the spreadsheet on the first post.

As the RNGs have been finalised, the voting for GPDA chairman is now closed, so congratulations to Nigel Mansell on being elected GPDA chairman.

As chairman, Rob Dylan has the power to call a vote on an Issue no more than once per Grand Prix Weekend. To declare an Issue, you must outline why you're calling a vote and what the options are for voting. I will then organise a voting period for votes to be collected. For an example, look at this post from last season.

Fastest Lap: Harvey Jones - 1:11.982
Drive of the race: Harvey Jones - lead the race at a canter, didn't make a mistake unlike most
Reject of the race: Jean-Pierre Jarier - spinning three times two corners apart is not a convincing debut for your team.
Dishonourable mention: Michele Alboreto - dropped the car in the gravel at turn one from P2. Managed to recover to steal third place.

The Sparshott Era by Sue Jawhard (1999), p. 161 wrote:[...] but when Kagan was given a draconian race ban by the stewards, Sparshott's first-choice replacement was unavailable. Depite being a former Sparshott protegé, Stephen South opted to remain with Tom Walkinshaw Racing in the BSCC, where he had made a winning start to the season. A deflated Sparshott thus turned to the British Leyland board, who laid out their demands for a replacement driver.
I have spoken to the BL board, and they have asked me to perform the following action:

The reserve price for the seat for this race is £19,375. (The equivalent of £310,000 for a full season.) We will then approach the following drivers to see if they can pay:
1. Mauro Baldi
2. Tommy Byrne
3. Teddy Pilette
4. Ingo Hoffman
5. Huub Rothengatter
6. Eliseo Salazar
7. David Kennedy
8. Jan Lammers
9. Gianfranco Brancatelli

Roll call
Well, it's been a while folks. I am preparing to run the next event, the US GP West, which will go ahead sometime this week. In the meantime, can all team owners post in the thread to state they'd like to continue with their team.

If you would no longer like to continue with your team, then I will reappropriate your entry to a deserving bidder.

If no deserving bidders are found (unlikely), then I will enact a stewardship over any vacant entries.

Fastest Lap: Gilles Villeneuve - 1:22.052
Drive of the race: JE Voeckler - Lapped his team mate, was there at the right place at the right time to capitalise on Tyrrell's misfortunes. Only led the race for 100 metres.
Honourable mention: Marc Surer - Another day, another March point. This time, he held off Regazzoni, Patrese, Warwick, and Gauthier for the closing 15 laps to hold onto P6.
Reject of the race: Tyrrell reliability - On lap 75, Terrell had a 1-2. Jones and Rosberg then broke down, with Keke spluttering to a halt 100 metres from the line as JE Voeckler cooly drove by to take the chequered flag.

Autosport wrote:Renault "must succeed" in Formula 1
It has emerged that representatives from the French government have given state-owned Renault S.A. an ultimatum: compete for the world title in two years, or the plug will be pulled on the Formula 1 team.

Renault brought the first turbocharged engine to Formula 1 in 1977 and took the first victory for a turbocharged engine in 1979, but since then the team have only scored a further three victories. To add insult to injury, McLaren won the World Constructors championship last season with a customer Renault engine, and star French driver Alain Prost left the team for 1982 by opting for Williams.

It is no surprise that the French government want to avoid the nationalised automaker's name becoming synonymous with mediocrity. To some within the paddock, Renault is already synonymous with ominous clouds of white smoke.

It is unclear what will become of the Renault customer engine programme should the company withdraw from Formula 1.

Renault currently sit 5th in the WCC after three rounds, with Jean-Pierre Jarier scoring the best finish of second in Brazil.
Twice Weekly Automotive Tabloid wrote:RAM Racing to enter F1?
Silly season has begun early this year with rumours of a new team joining the F1 grid for 1983. RAM, headed by Mike Ralph and John Macdonald, have been looking to enter Formula 1 for the last five years. A previous attempt failed to attract the necessary funding, forcing the team to move to Formula 2, running March chassis. A trustworthy source has told this publication that Ted Toleman could be looking to sell up, given the lack of success of his own entry.
