Have you ever thought, "Man I wish horses had freakily elongated limbs and sometimes more legs?" Then, friend, this is the place for you.

Welcome to the world of Better Horses. Where you can create, race, trade, and bet on your creations.

You will take on the role of stable owner. Where you will be given a starting budget of 100 Neigh Coins (NC)


Here is a basic price list before we start racing.

1: A new race horse - 20 NC
2: A flat terrain training course - 50 NC (You choose a distance between 50 and 450 spagoos.)
3: A bumpy terrain training course - 50 NC (You choose a distance between 50 and 450 spagoos.)

Horses are generated by giving them names, as the random generation seed is tied to the "beast" name.
Training courses allow you to race your horses to see which ones are most fit for official races, but you don't have to buy them you can always enter untested horses into official races, what could go wrong?

Don't like the horse you generated, you could always try and sell it off for cheap to other players. There will also be betting based on horse form. Various distances, terrains and "surprises" await.

At the Horsing R+D facility, they have an enormous bumpy terrain course that is brutal for all comers!
Little Fly, a short-legged runner is consistent but struggles with the larger bumps.

THWNSNBM though is yet to finish the course, the bambi-like creature spends more time on its back than on its 6 legs.

Meanwhile, at Foxdale the horses are training on a small flat course.

After multiple runnings, it is unclear which is the better horse.

Bed Bum is small and shuffles seal-like so has great consistency if not pace.

Whilst Back to Black Beauty is full of energy and the 8-legged beast either bursts out in force or ends up skidding on the spot with little forward progress.

The season begins with the Rookie Horse Tryouts.

All horses are entered free of charge and have a low-pressure environment on a short flat course.

The horses were grouped into heats of 6 via random draw, with the top 2 of each advancing to a small cash placement final.


Heat 1

Shergar II exploded out the blocks to take a dominant victor, Little Fly is a consistent shuffler and wormed through a narrow 2nd place ahead of the two foxdale entries who narrowly miss out on the final.

Heat 2

An equally dominant race, though not so much from Nature Boy's speed but more that all the other horses behind fell into difficulty and made little to no forward progress. THWNSNBM was given the nod for 2nd for their enlarged frame being closer to the line.

Heat 3

The large beasts of Atila el Huno and Azabache did Casa Toro proud with a near photo finish, with Hitting on a 20 running them close.
The Game bolted at great speed in the wrong direction and vanished beyond the bounds of the stadium, it is unknown if the beast has been recovered or is still at large.

This leads to the final. With 20 Neigh Coins for the winner, 10 for second place and 5 for third.

It's victory for Casa Toro! Azabache! The horse is large and steady, which is good enough for this years rookie class victory!

Nature boy was the closest challenger. previous heat winners Atila el Hun and Shergar II were not quite in the same 'form' as the first race and struggled. So Little Fly did their thing and placed 3rd.

Accepted. Testing on both courses shows much promise from "12th street." Who has great powerful back legs and plenty of weight pushing them forward, sometimes takes a while to get going though.

"René Arnoux the Horse" is very short and struggles with terrain, but can challenge 12th street on the flats.

"September 2022 United Kingdom Mini Budget" Is probably about as well recieved as their namesake, but maybe if we give them a month or so they will improve.

Testing at the Information Highway shows "Numa Numa Guy" being the faster more spectacular horse. Possibly the most explosive power in the series but has difficulty pointing it always in the right direction.

Leroy Jenkins doesn't fall over, but that's about all the good that can be said about this 6 legged horse that struggles for traction.

Testing on your course shows promise from "Horsin' Around". A quick consistent runner that won all 5 test bouts against "Gordon Elliott Furniture" who is both slower and less steady on it's many feet. But at least Gordon can finish most of the time.

Swiftwind had a great start, but ended up baulking and catapulting itself backwards into the giant frame of Numa Numa Guy. Leaving Rene Arnoux to cruise to an easy victory by some distance. Mini Budget and GEF got the nod due to the distance travelled.

Horsin' Around led home 12th Street in a clean race at the front. Chaos in the back with the other horses in all sorts of peril. African Swallow lucky to advance.

"Horsin' Around" really bossed this short course, winning again. 12th Street and Rene Arnoux were in a near photo finish for 2nd, "the strong and" stable having a great debut. African Swallow had a better showing in the final but was still a clear 4th.


So the results of the rookie testing are 20NC for Galway Tent Racing and 15NC for Strong and.

By my maths, you are 5NC short on getting a new runner, as you were down to 0NC and earned 15NC from the rookie meet. (I apologise it took so long to reply to this)

The first major race event of the season, the Royal 300 is open for entry. Here is how it will work:

This will be a flat course race of 300 spagoo units, slightly longer than the Rookie test course but nothing too extreme. The event will be divided between the "Cash Race(s)" and "Placement Races"

The cash race will be a sign-up event, for the cost of 5NC you may enter your horse into the cash race with the prize money from the entry fee being divided between the winners. The bigger the entry list the bigger the potential prize.

The "Placement Races" will be free entry races with no prizes for all other horses, so they may build experience and get a better racing record. You don't need to register for this race as this is automatic. (Though if you wish you can request any of your horses not to race at all).

To sign up for the Royal 300 Cash race, please request so in this thread along with your 5NC per horse payment. Sign up closes Wednesday the 8th of May 14:00 BST.
