Re: 2016 Silly Season Thread

If the super license rules weren't in place, Jordan King would be at Manor next season. With the rules, I wonder how long his father will back Manor if it doesn't look like his son will earn enough points to ever drive in F1.

In the concept in the motorsport.com article, why is there one pylon (/blade) right in front of the drivers eyes, rather than two pylons at the side more like a dirt buggy's cage?

Two teams have failed to gain an entry for 2016-17. The identities of the teams have not been revealed, but it is understood ART is neither of them, interestingly. It can also be understood that one of them was probably Stefan GP, as usual But unfortunately, it now looks like no new teams will be e...

I was thinking lately, there is only one driver I can name who won a World Championship F1 race in every year he competed: Lewis Hamilton. Lots of others are quite close: Vettel only didn't win a single race in 2007 and 2014, Fangio in 1958, Nino Farina in 1955 and so on. Most later drivers missed ...

So are there any engine suppliers that might consider joining the sport? Cosworth, AER and Zytek could do it, for cheap, but Cosworth's recent engine programme doesn't suggest that Red Bull should have confidence that it would make them competitive.

Red Bull-Mercedes ? Believable in the short-term. In the long-term (looking to 2020 and beyond), I would expect Mateschitz to sell the team, or find a customer supplier. On the BBC Steiner said that the only things the team had to build for itself were the chassis and the aero kit (which will all be done by Dallara anyway). While customer cars are banned, this is the most sensible solution for a start-up team, imo.

Hopefully it will be Marciello in one of the seats.

2. Sergio Pérez. Only beat the worst car on the grid, kept making mistakes.
