I also don't know why Ken Tyrrell wanted to hire Verstappen anyway. Based on his performance in 1997 I wouldn't have. Well it was between him and Rosset. It's not like Schumacher was available. I'd hire a Ham Sandwich over Verstappen. This is a biased opinion of course but I do not and never have r...

Re: Was Ricardo Rosset actually terrible?

I would say he was. He did have ability in lower categories, but in all honesty he was probably one of the worst drivers in the field in 1996 and definitely the absolute worst in 1998. I wouldn't be so quick to blame the car either - the FA17 was actually pretty fast and would have scored more point...

Although the rejectful characteristic of Jabouille's win in 1979 was that those were the only points he scored all season. He then went on to repeat that in 1980 - and these were two of the three times he ever finished in the points in 55 attempts. Jabouille was repeatedly let down by his Renault, ...

Re: Michelin .. The Saviors of F1's tyre debacle??

I like 13" wheels, to be quite honest. Also, larger diameter wheels do not equal greater performance, you don't need huge wheels to go fast. I track a car that uses 14" wheels and anything over about 17" would be overkill even with massive upgrades. Large wheels are usually for style,...

I do feel really bad for Michele...he never really recovered from that crushing defeat in 1985. Why do bad things always happen to good Italian drivers?

As for Alliot, I don't know how he kept landing drives after about 1988.

Well, obvious bias as I am a fan of Aguri, but Suzuki had an excellent 1990. I don't have an excuse as to why he struggled so much with the Footworks.
