No 2 ? There must be someone who recognizes the track. The truck can help.

How about this one. Can we find the year and track ? (right-click on it and open image in new tab to see it ):

You're going to struggle with that Jim Clark one mate! Very hard to tell where that might be!

As for number 2 in your previous post, it's Mauro Baldi, so 1983, and from the truck I'd be inclined to say a European race. Also the track has road markings on it, so in my view, I'd be inclined to say either Spa or Paul Ricard. Despite the road markings it clearly isn't a street track, ruling out Long Beach, Detroit and Monaco. I don't think Montreal has or did have road markings on it at any time. It could possibly be Kyalami, but I'm struggling to think of a right hander with trees on the inside at that particular circuit.

no.2 also looks like Spa or Paul Ricard to me.

no. 4 looks like it might from Sliverstone (M Schumi in 1999 which takagi_for_the_win had already mentioned).

With regards to the Jim Clark photo I'll say it was taken at the 1968 South Africa GP.

The best way of dating it I suppose will be to find out when Clark started having Esso and Firestone logos on his overalls. From that, we can already reduce down to the period from 1966-68 when Lotus used Firestone tyres whilst Jimmy as still alive, but from there I'm stumped.

Can't narrow it down with Esso either - apparently they were using Esso as far back as 1961.

I doubt it was Silverstone, after all, weren't Schumacher and Irvine all over each other in the brief time Schumi actually was on track?

Yes you are correct. However I was thinking that photo might have been taken in either the quali session or FP before Sunday? I am assuming it is from Sliverstone 1999, because of the blue & white kerbs, the reasonable amount of rear wing on the car and the lack of Marlboro sponsorship. I am assuming the photo is taken at Woodcote corner...but I could be wrong.

I said the South African GP in 1968, because the stripes on Jim's shoulders, I am assuming has something to do with the Gold Leaf sponsorhip which I believe Chapman brought to the team in 1968? Again IIRC South Africa was the only F1 championship race I believe Jim raced in before his tragic accident in that year. But I can't be sure on the timing of these things. Normally I would check these things out on Wiki before posting. But my 1990 rFactor mod has just finished DLing so...V12 Lambo here I come baby!!! :P

(p.s. Only recently just got rFactor, so I have a hell of a lot of catching up to do with it over the coming weeks. So if you don't see me posting much within this forum over the coming weeks. Now you know the reason why.)

01) My instincts say Zandvoort for some reason, not sure
02) Yeah, looks like the run down to the chicane on the seafront at Monaco
03) Definitely Watkins Glen by the turquoise armco barriers
04) I think Monaco, with Stewart carrying the number 1 and it being wet that year. Can't pin down the section of the track.
05) Tricky, possibly the Swiss GP at Dijon? Other than that maybe Zolder, I'm trying to think of tracks with that amount of trees around the first corner

Given that there's a British flag waving in the background, I'd say probably not... :P

Isn't that the Union Jack flown by Williams above their pit? Along with the Saudi flag in difference to their sponsors? I seem to recall that they did that quite a lot back then. Could be wrong.

If you zoom in you'll see the mechanics standing between the flags have white shirts with TAG on them, when TAG were a major sponsor of Williams ;)

So why are there Brabhams in their pit?

Because their pit is just in front of the Brabham pit (the Williams mechanics and the gantry with the Saudi flag are in front of the Brabham), which would make sense as Williams beat Brabham to the 1981 Constructors championship, and the pits in question appear to be at the exit of pit lane.

It confuses me. The flag shows maybe that it is on english territory ? Or not ? Does anyone recognize the pits ?

I also want to find no1. Is it Canada ? I don't know :(

After seeing a couple of pics from that year's car, I'm fairly sure it's 2001.

It's not 2001. For a start, in 2001, TIM were on the front wing endplate, and Shell, TicTac and FedEx shared the sidepods. Vodafone didn't sponsor Ferrari until 2002. I believe this is 2002, as there is no Olympus logo on the nosecone (2003-2005). Hope this helps! :)

To be fair, I only took a quick look and thought that they looked similar. Although Ferrari had a habit of using the previous year's car in the first few races, so it might be the F2001 in early 2002.

2) I think is the Nurburgring; looks like the pit entry, as on the other side of the armco is a red and white wall, not unlike the final corner, with Warsteiner sponsorship hoardings, which is a rather potent German beer. If not then I'd say Monaco '98.

EDIT: Image Warsteiner were the title sponsors of the 1998 Luxembourg GP

Plus, McLaren ran a 3 plane rear wing at Monaco in 1998.....

3) '83 at Kyalami. Southern Sun hotels was/is a South African hotel business I believe, and Rosberg wore yellow overalls in '84 ;)

And the Rosberg/Laffite one from before is South Africa. It's already been pointed out by someone else.
