Crying at our loss.

Post by captainhappy »

Just shedding a tear, as I listen this HondaF1 Demo at Motegi. I am a "crack head" type junkie for the sound of those V10 machines. My spine is wired for that scream! Damn the Fia for taking them away

Mourn your V10 all you want...my heart always beats for the V12.
Some say he plans to put an S921 on the Goodwood 2012 run, and that he DOES know what Deletraz is doing.
All we know is...he's called Perry McCarthy!

...we'll never see an S921 at Goodwood, will we?

Can't beat a W12 IMHO, although the tracks are a much shorter duration. ;)

Sick! I am waiting for someone to stand up and tell me that our present V8 formula stirs anything in the soul. I doubt it.

V10 and V12 engines were just power-heavy wastes of time and money. I seriously doubt you could make one that would last as long as the current V8s would. Toro Rosso ran a V10 engine when everone else had V8s - admittedly theirs was a little restricted - nd look how ell that worked out for them. I don't think the regualtions cracking down on V10s and V12s are a loss at all, and certainly not one worth crying over.

The weight disadvantage of V10s and V12s isn't too bad and the engine isn't that much longer, the main problem is the fuel consumption.

You can cry for the V10's and V12's all you want, I am still mourning the departure of the greatest engines of all time, The Turbocharged V6's of the Eighties.

The Sound of The Tag Porsches, The BMW, The Ferraris and the Hondas are something I regret I could never experience live.

(Living In Finland AND being born 88 have a major role in that)

But luckily there is plenty of recorded footage of these Kings of Engines.
I got Pointed Opinions and I ain't afraid to use em!

BTW, thats Räikkönen with two K's and two N's. Not Raikonnen (Raikkonen is fine if you have no umlauts though)

Nothing beats the sound of a 94/95 Ferrari V12 engine. Simply glorious sound added to the mystique Ferrari had for 94/95 when they were competitive and constantly unlucky.

Here's one of ours, folks.

You're riding with Larousse Lamborghini!
