Re: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1988 Season
I'll be pulling out of the March seat. Got other stuff going on in life...
My friend's USB drive spoiled, spilled tea on her laptop and had a bird poo in her hand.
What did she do in her past life to deserve this?

Re: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1988 Season
Forza Ferrari per sempre.
L'Equipe wrote:Silly Saison: Younger Voeckler in talks with Larrousse, Arrows and Minardi
We've all become accustomed to seeing Jérémy-Étienne Voeckler at the sharp end of the field, but it could be possible that in future another family member will join him. Frédéric-Maxime Voeckler, seven years his brother's junior, is looking to step up to the top series after a successful stint in French Formula 3.
It seems patriotism may not be a factor, despite it being a recurring theme in the history of the sport, with French drivers more often than not debuting for the long line of Gallic outfits seen throughout the history of F1. Indeed, his older brother Jérémy-Étienne started his career as a Renault development driver, albeit being loaned to the Shadow team to make his race debut in F1.
While Larrousse on paper seems the likely destination, there are also rumours the young Frenchman may well end at a foreign team, with suggestions that Minardi or Arrows may lose their most impressive drivers - Pierluigi Martini and Chris Dagnall respectively. With an impressive junior record to his name, and also the ability to bring a little sponsorship money, the younger Voeckler could be an attractive proposition to those solid midfield teams.

French F3000 team Automobiles Gonfaronnaises Sportives will make their long-awaited debut in Formula for the 1988 season, it can be revealed.
Team principal Henri Julien had initially intended to join the field part-way through 1986, but FISA had denied the team's entry as AGS' intention was to enter nothing more than a modified F3000 car. With a new car designed by Christian Vanderpleyn to the full Formula 1 regulations, AGS have now been able to take their place on the grid after the withdrawal of March.

Re: Alternate F1 - The Revolutionary Era - 1988 Season
I got this mail about pay-driver suggestions, however, one of these suggested drivers had signed a 32 race contract in 1987, so signing a driver that already has an existing contract with Ligier looks kind of... pointless.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but the 1987 thread has no mention of the contracts being a different length than the ones offered, so at the moment, i assume that both drivers just have a 32 race contract.

This is a consequence of the purpose of pay drivers within the game. They don't exist to give you money, they exist to railroad your driver choice to a certain extent. You still have said driver under contract, so you get the pay driver money without "doing" anything for it - lucky you

Car Market
Alright, now that biscione is done pretending he has power over me, at least for the time being, we can get to the good stuff, the...
Car Market
Here's the Price table
>> Step 1: Buying an engine
We have four manufacturers available for your choice if you happen to be a customer team. I will explain the columns: Company should be self-explainatory. BHP states its power in qualifying and race. CFP means Car Failure Probability, i.e. it's a fancy term for reliability. The higher it is, the more likely your car is to retire from a race. Available describes how many engine contracts are available to teams. Notes are information about specific factors tying into the engine choice. Price is the price you pay for purchasing the engine contract.
Basically, you just pick the engine you would like and a RNG will decide which engine you will be given. Factors playing into the RNG are real-life history, your team's performance over the last season and general feasibility. Any team that outright chooses it or fails to get any of their desired engine will be given the Ford (NA) engine. All engine deals are one-year contracts.
>> Step 2: Developing a chassis
Explaining the columns as well: Max Grip determines the highest amount of grip possible, your car won't have more grip than that value, no matter what, even if you had HWNSNBM himself driving the vehicle. An RNG will determine that value once you have decided on a chassis type. CFP is the same as with engines - the lower the number the more likely your car is to finish. Note that the "U" chassis type is your team keeping its old chassis, this is merely a narrative choice, for all other intents and purposes, it will be treated like all the other chassis types. Upgrades work different in the Revolutionary Era system, given as they are, in the narrative, representing a B version of the chassis you produced (or kept) at the start of the year. All teams may only use two upgrades per year, regardless of chassis type, and they must not be made before the fifth race of the season or after the twelveth race of the season.
Alright, please fill out this until Friday, September 4 (10:00 p.m. CEST) and post it in this thread. Once you have posted the data, editing your post is forbidden unless I allow you to:
After purchasing chassis, engine and brothels, your team must only be so far in debt that you are able to get back into the black numbers after pay-driver money has been added after the driver market. You may make more or less choices as far as engines are concerned.
Furthermore, note that if you have not posted your choices until the deadline, your spot will be taken by a user from the waiting list. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or contact me through the usual ways.
