2019 FIA Endurance Challenge
2019 FIA Endurance Challenge
Welcome back to another season, this time rebranded as the FIA Endurance Challenge, all-new with 10 races all-across the globe!
Huge thanks to Ataxia for the logo, btw

1. Drivers
Drivers can be either real or fictional. They are classed in the following tiers:
PLATINUM
Downforce Range: 7-10
The tip top of motorsport, these guys are the best of the best, the cream of the crop, etc. etc. Front-runners in ARWS, F1, GTSS, SARS, PC, PES, IndyCar and RL WEC amongst others are the ones you will see here.
GOLD
Downforce Range: 5-9
These are the drivers that, while skilled, are not as skilled as their Platinum counteparts or haven't been developed to their full potential yet. These include AR2.0/F3/SEAT champions, GTSS/PC mid-fielders and/or in the case of GTSS, factory drivers, and any F1/ARWS/Indy driver that's not over 40 and doesn't qualify for a Platinum license, amongst others.
SILVER
Downforce Range: 3-7
Tier containing some drivers that have raced with very minor sucess or drivers that have never been able to reach Gold and just stagnated. It also contains rookies (see below for a slightly more detailed explanation)
BRONZE
Downforce Range: 1-6
Worst-tier, contains rookies (see below for a slightly more detailed explanation), gentleman drivers, and all-around abysmal drivers.
A driver with a Gold or Platinum license must have previous experience in canon. You will be able to choose their ratings, but don't go too silly, or else I will hand the case by myself and trust me, it won't end pretty.
1.1 Rookies
A driver that debuts in EC with no previous canon experience can be classed as either Silver or Bronze. Then you ask yourself "why would I want to rank my driver Bronze?". Well, a Silver driver, while better in the short-term, have been developed more and as a result, they will often come out worse in the long-term compared to Bronze drivers. Bronze drivers is the reverse; worse in the short-term, but better in the long-term.
2. Teams
There will 13 teams in LMP, 5 in GT-Pro (all works) and 8 in GT-Am. All teams must have 2 cars. You can't apply to have a GT-Pro team if you have a LMP team. Each team must have 3 drivers in each car, and in the case of GT-Pro and GT-Am, all cars must have at least 1 Pro (Platinum, Gold) and Am (Silver, Bronze) driver respectively.
All works teams are pre-assigned, and you have to apply. The works teams will be assigned by me, based on their previous track record:
Ferrari: AF Corsa (488 GTE)
Ford: Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK (GT)
Porsche: Dempsey-Proton Racing (911 RSR)
Aston Martin: Aston Martin Racing (Vantage GTE)
Chevrolet: Corvette Racing (Corvette C7.R)
The process of sign-ups will be done as follows:
1. Check-in + GT-Pro works teams application
2. Sign-ups (Driver + Numbers)
If you want to move away from the LMP class and to GT, you can.
3. Cars/Engines/Tyres
Each car has the following 3 stats:
Grip: How good will the car perform
Engine Power: How much power will the car have
CFP: Will affect reliability; the lower the better
There are 3 tiers, the higher the tier is, the better perfomance you can get, but reliability gets worse and you get less upgrades. You can keep a previous car, but they will get an aging stat of -7 HP, -150 Grip and +500 CFP. Focus remains the same as last year; focusing on one area will give you a boost of perfomance (+100 Grip, +10 BHP, -500 CFP). Using a car for an additional season will entitle a team to the equivalent of a Medium upgrade in the off-season. You will also have 2 upgrades available, as per tier 2 car.
Tyres can be chosen between 4 manufacturers; Falken, Cooper, Dunlop and Michelin. Each offer a Dry Grip (how good will the car perfom in dry conditions), Wet Grip (same as Dry Grip but with Wet), RGR (will affect consistency; the lower, the better), CFP (will affect reliability).
Upgrades allow you to improve your car or other statistics. You can upgrade the following things:
Engine Power
CFP
Car Grip
Driver Improvements (exact values not shown; instead, the crew will tell you how much he/she has improved, improves all drivers)
The bigger the upgrade is, the bigger the chances of the upgrade failing.
The list of available GTE cars for this season is:
Aston Martin Vantage GTE - Available to both customers and works teams
Chevrolet Corvette C7.R - Available to both customers and works teams
Ferrari 488 GTE - Available to works teams only
Ferrari 458 Italia - Available to customer teams only

Points system will be the same as before.

Autosport wrote:Mazda to leave Endurance Challenge
Mazda will not participate in the FIA Endurance Challenge for 2019.
Masamichi Kogai, the CEO of Mazda, has confirmed that the automotive marque will no longer fund an LMP program, which was run in conjunction with Pulsar Racing. It is believed that the poor performance of the inline-4 SKYACTIV diesel engine was a contributing factor to their departure.
In lieu of this, I'd like to run ByKolles Racing for 2019.

Actually, you don't really need to wait, since you can either apply for a GT-Pro works team or switch to a GT-Am team, once sign-ups open for that.

I'd like to make clear to anyone considering taking the AF Corse franchise that former factory Ferrari sportscar drivers Alexandre-Laurent Voeckler and Natalia Valenti can be considered at the disposal of the team should they be requested.

Re: 2019 FIA Endurance Challenge
Alright. With the deadline past us, it's time to start sign-ups, which includes car development.
However, since there is still a few slots left to fill:
Rebellion Racing will take over the remaining LMP spot. (Run by me, but I will seize it as soon as someone wants the team)
KCMG will take over the remaining GT-Am spot. (Same)
The GT-Pro teams can now be taken over by anyone, regardless of whatever you have an LMP team or not.
GT-Pro teams (red marks taken):
Dempsey-Proton Racing (Porsche)
Aston Martin Racing (Aston Martin)
Ford Chip Ganassi Racing UK (Ford)
AF Corse (Ferrari) - run by pasta_maldonado
Corvette Racing (Chevrolet) - run by SeedStriker
