F1 has a Global Sponsorship Partner!

Post by dr-baker »

And it is... in this Autosport article!

So will it now be "F1 as brought to you by UBS" or will it be more along the lines of the current LG sponsorship?

I have never heard of that company.

I am going to insist on pronouncing it as a word rather than an acronym.

Not the first time a business like this has been involved in F1.

It's biggest rival in the financial sector is Credit Suisse...who as you all know sponsored Sauber for years.

Perhaps we'll see this company's logo appear on every car in the field next season?

Now that would be great! It'd be like "Alright, you are the Global Sponsorship Partner, your job is to give money to all the teams!"
Actually, come to think of it, it's not that far-fetched. If I recall correctly, it happened in the past with Marlboro, at least for a large part of the grid.

Actually, when I first read the article and started this thread, I was getting confused. I thought UBS was in fact UPS...

Early results have shown the Big Brown Truck to be faster than HRT's chassis.

Why else would Jackie Stewart have endorsed it?

But Marlboro was never a global partner of F1, I guess.

Bernie has.

F1's doing a pretty good job of losing fans without crap like this.

I was thinking more like the contingency decals that you see on NASCAR cars. Just little stickers that show up near the front of the cars, and teams gain slight performance advantages by having them on the car.
