Another thing to note is that the FIA seem to believe that they have got to the bottom of the electronic problems that they have been suffering from since the start of the year. Although the FIA had considered ditching the current supplier, Riedel Communications, and reverting back to their 2012 spec system, it seems that the promises of an upgraded system from Riedel, plus complaints from the teams that switching suppliers would cause considerable problems with rewiring the cars, have been enough for the FIA to stick with them for now. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2013/05/0 ... See this is when Jean-Marie Ballestre is sorely missed. He's have just told the teams to bathplug off and sacked the electronics supplier. Any incompetence would be sorted out instantly. Makes Bernie look like a housewife.

I actually agree with this. I may not have been born at the time, but I have watched random stuff from Balestre's time. He was better and is better than Bernie.

Woah easy there tiger, Balestre was good at one thing, and that was making unchallengeable decisions that more often than not angered drivers, team bosses and the fans. He had questionable political views and had some dodgy contacts. His uncompromising stance over a number of issues caused chaos in the early 80s, and his handling of the Prost/Senna affair was a shambles. As a businessman he was hopeless, and was fooled by Bernie many times towards the end of his tenure, resulting in the FIA originally getting a paltry share of the TV revenues from F1. The sport was far less professional under Balestre, made far less money and was unrefined and amateurish at times.
I know I wouldn't want him in charge right now, that's for sure.

This. In some ways F1 back then was successful inspite of Balestre. It may be hard to believe now but the battles Bernie and Max Mosley had with Balestre brought F1 out of the seventies. I know we sometimes get nostalagic over the Old Days (well I do) but left to Balestre F1 would still be a 14/15 race mostly European based series. In this modern era how quaint and old fashioned would that now look?

First Venezuela on the rear wing, now the Kazakh capital city somewhere on the car. Wonder how long it'll take for Williams to take on an Earth livery?

It's a very minor deal, judging by the placement of the logos described in the article. But still, better than nothing!

I love those podium photos - especially the way Kimi looks to totally not care whenever he's on the podium.

Followed by Johan Bruyneel being appointed Team Principal, both drivers working harder to sabotage each other than beat their rivals, and then the loser of that battle being banned for failing a drugs test.

I don't see anything, but looking at the string revealed this:
pastor_maldonadopct27s_crash_2011_malaysia . I'm ok with that.
And as for the duration of keeping the avatar on the losers profile, I'd like to nominate #12 days.
#12 being the car number on HWNSNBM's '03 Jordan EJ13.
Oh, and here's your avatar for when I win the bet on Sunday evening:

The most disappointing thing about that has to be that they wrote out Perez's name as Sergio Perez Mendoza, but they didn't do the same for Esteban Gutierrez Gutierrez.

And they bother to put Sergio Perez Mendoza but not Fernando Alonso Díaz? Huh?
Also, when checking Felipe Massa's maternal name, it would appear he doesn't have one registered to his birth name at all. Which is frankly bizarre, I've never come across a Brazilian that doesn't have that.

It's one of the polls on the driver database homepage, and they log your IP address so you can't vote twice for the same person

I'm somewhat of a Schumacher fan, nobody else I know really likes him though.
By the way, i've added to Button's tally on that poll. Two reasons.
1. He actually is my favourite driver
2. This is something that Vettel doesn't need to win

Well, you can add me to the list of Schumacher fans you know of.
I'll vote for Bianchi. Bianchi seems to be good on track and nearly beat Williams in China. He's only finished a lap down in every race compared to Chilton. Future star? In my dreams, he is.

Me too, I guess! Always got flack for being a Schumacher person, but my family's always supported him for some bizzare reason.
I'd be voting for either Alonso or Button, as both I enjoy a lot, but JB's the one who seems to be the nicer guy... Would massively prefer Alonso to win, though.

I voted for Grosjean. If he keeps building his form in incremental stages like he has been, I think/hope he can grab a win this season.
I know he had a suspect 2012, but I think he's a class act. Naturally quick, and now he's starting to learn from Kimi in how to be quick AND consistent. And for some reason, I always follow French drivers...

Nope. RoGro's alerady got four podiums. To be Jabouille, he can't even score points aside from his wins.
