1. Fernando Alonso - charging drive. Life in the old dog yet.
2. Carlos Sainz Jr. - charging drive. Life in the young dog yet.

1. Carlos Sainz, Jr.: Great drive, too bad he couldn't keep the fifth place.
2. Felipe Massa: The puncture ruined his chances of fighting Sainz and Alonso, but otherwise this was the best race from him in a while.

1. Sainz - Just one lap away from unrejectification, still a great drive after six races off the scoreboard.
2. Alonso - He's working wonders out of that car.
HM to Rio Haryanto - was stripped of a DOTD award which was much more deserved than today's.

1. Carlos Sainz, Jr and Brian Scott - Toro Rosso shouldn't be finishing this high this late in the season. Neither should a Richard Petty Motorsports car driven by someone that is currently looking at a NASCAR Reject of the Year award this year.
2. Fernando Alonso - Not bad considering a disappointing qualifying.

1. Gerard Butler - for a surprisingly brilliant podium interview. Had about 20 seconds of time for Hamilton and Rosberg, then spent 5 minutes drinking Red Bull from a shoe and speaking in "an impersonation of a Texan accent" with Ricciardo.
2. Fernando Alonso - I really hope that McLaren is a good car next year. In the current car he's genuinely challenging for a 9th place in the standings.

1- Haas for getting a point in their home race which seeing how many issues they have had in the second half of the season is an achievement
2- Carlos Sainz Jr- On the weekend his team stunned the paddock by KEEPING Daniil Kvyat he managed ti show everyone who the lead driver is at Toro Rosso
HM- Alonso.- good drive to 5th. who said he was unmotivated?

Carlos Sainz Jr. - Considering the Toro Rosso hasn't been developed for most of the season any points are impressive, especially a top 6
Fernando Alonso - He's still got it

I will nominate:
(10) Carlos Sainz the younger: unrejectification oh so nearly, but I wouldn't bet against him finishing the job early next season.
(6) Alex Zanardi: for being Alex Zanardi and the race was on his 50th birthday, so why not?

James Allen, on his favourite F1 engine of all time:
"...the Life W12, I can't describe the noise to you, but imagine filling your dustbin with nuts and bolts, and then throwing it down the stairs, it was something akin to that!"
