Re: Your Reject of the Race - Montreal!

Hmm. Probably, I would vote for Race Control. I got so frustrated whenever the ticker tape came up because I knew that someone, somewhere, was being a bit nitpickish.

I wouldn't vote Hamilton, simply because I think he got his just deserts :P

If that's the case, then you gotta think how much bad timing that is. Then again I don't know Guiterrez's pedigree, so I can't comment on whether fate conspired against him in a positive way :P

Re: F1 to head to Qatar?

Actually, I'm suprised a GP circuit hasn't been built in Luxembourg. I know that was the name of the Nurburgring at some point, but with the amount of money there I'm surprised that it wasn't mooted during the 70s or 80s.

Re: F1 to head to Qatar?

The Middle East will NEVER have a problem affording an F1 race. I'm surprised Saudi Arabia havn't got a race, to be honest. All those oil millions for dear old Bernard.

Re: F1 to head to Qatar?

Wouldn't it make great publicity if the grand prix was to be included in the calendar for or before 2022, coinciding with the World Cup? If there are desires to host a GP there, then doubtless this would be the intention in the long term.

F1 to head to Qatar?

http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/01/ ... t-of-note/

Something tells me that the feared Eastern expansion may well increase further. However, at least the circuit is already built, and from memory the Qatar MotoGP race is a great spectacle. Whether the circuit will suit a Formula 1 car remains to be seen.

Ok. I see.

I have a rant though - I'm getting fed up of the F1 expansion in the East. I could bring up Orientalism arguments, but that's just me.

I'm sorry, it's very early for me and about to go to work for 12 hours. Not in a good frame of mind.

But regardless, if Brundle noticed it in the commentary box, surely SOMEONE must have seen it? I mean, isn't the box close to Race Control?

Another FIA inquiry...

And wouldnt you know it, it's the issue of Massa's grid slot! m Looks like Ferrari are in for a torrid fortnight. Then again, it's the FIA's fault for not picking it up. Massa would have happily taken the drive-through penalty had he been instructed to. I think, if Massa is penalised for this in Mon...

At the risk of sounding biased, I've never really liked Vettel. For sure, his win in Monza in the Torro Rosso was exceptional and I whooped and cheered with everyone else, but now I can't stand that arse-faced twit. His manner and demeanor are of arrogance and finger pointing. This season has ripped...

Re: List of F1 drivers' road cars

I don't know why, but I dont agree with the sponsors/teams giving their drivers cars. Wouldn't the money be better going into R&D? And anyway, it's not exactly like the drivers can't afford their own cars, even if it was required to be a brand linked to the team.

Looking at overall performances over the season, it would be easy to nominate Schumacher, so I shall not. I would not vote for any one of the rookies either, because they are all performing well. For me, the reject of the championship thus far is Pedro De La Rosa. "But he's an older driver, so ...

Re: IIDOT... huh... first bit of the Championship

For me, the best thing to come out of this season so far is Kamui Kobayashi. He's proven to his critics, and those of Japanese racers in general, that he can hack it in Formula 1 and that his efforts late last season were not one off showings. I see him going far, possibly becoming the greatest Japa...
